Looking for a tax deduction?

You all may have seen us running around the neighborhood these last few months...or on some days, dying around the neighborhood ;) We're training for the AIDS Honolulu marathon that will take place on Dec. 12.

We're currently accepting donations towards the Whitman Walker Clinic (http://www.aidsmarathon.com/participant.asp?runner=DC-8075&Year=2004&EventCode=HN04). Believe it or not - 1 in 20 has HIV in the DC area. This number astounded us! Additionally, 1 person under the age of 25 is infected with HIV every 30 minutes - in the US. It is now the leading worldwide cause of death for people aged 15-59.

what percentage of the donations goes towards flying you guys to hawaii? =)

From the looks of the webpage, if you raise $3400 they'll fly you out and pay for your hotel. I think I'd rather donate my money to a cause where 100% of the donation goes to the charity, not to fly people to Hawaii in the middle of December. :(

Just checking in... How did your free vacati^H^H^H^H^H^Hcharity marathon in Hawaii go? :)

Actually, we ended up not flying to Hawaii for several reasons (expense being a big one!). BUT we did complete the marathon in Ashburn last Sunday - the 12th. Perhaps you saw us running laps around the neighborhood. We were grateful it wasn't super cold or raining/snowing. :-)
