I think he would have definately be a better leader for not only us, but the world. Sure, he would have had to fix Bush's mess, but do you think Bush is going to do that in the next 4 years?
It's a sad time for many, and I just hope that we don't learn the hard way that we are on the wrong path.
It's going to be hard to regain the world's respect, and it certainly won't be under this administration.

How can a man that can't firmly state his views on any subject without changing it 5 minutes later be a leader? That's the exact opposite of leader.
The world should be more concerned about earning our respect. The EU is a "politically correct" joke. The arab nations tend to hate everyone that doesn't believe in their version of islam, we're not their only targets, and 3rd world african countries still sell their own people into slavery among other atrocities.

Sounds like Kerry's campaign mantra. As we all know, that worked really well.

It doesn't matter now. Kerry would have been just as strong as anyone on terrorism and preventing it. He would not try and slide ulterior motives (Iraq) into his foreign policy.
Mearen, all arabs do not hate us. Not all arabs are extremists.
My jackass comment stands. I assume republicans are letting the whole "intelligence of a leader" thing slide.
Too many OBGYNs aren't able to practice their love of women all across this country!

I read that Ashcroft might vacate his post. You would be a perfect replacement.

Muslims are at war with hindus, christians, and budhists alike. That's not an opinion.

Cripes, not all of them are 'at war'. I work with some muslims and I'd be hard pressed to say they're plotting my demise. Why don't you cast your stereotype net out a little further and see if you get any latinos with knives or british folk with bad teeth.

I believe Mearen was referring to the muslims not living in this country.

So tell me ... how many of the issues that he voted on have you read? They can easily be found, go and read it and compare notes. Take special care of the pork that he voted against, even if it meant losing something he wanted.

Again, we are better then others. They need to kiss our asses so we respect them. We have gone on a course of division in the world, we think we are so great we can do whatever we want and there are no consequences. Other countries in the history of the world have seen themselves that way .... it doesn't last all that long. Sooner or later the world shows those countries that they don't have the right to bully the world.

hahah... yes, all muslims not on american soil hate us. That's a totally rational point.
It's for this reason that W won re-election. People actually believe this.

Marianne,
You are correct. It is sad to think that when history proves us right, there might not be a USA as we have known it to be. Sure, we'll have the last laugh, but at everyone's expense. Hopefully someone can turn this country around and reverse this downward spiral we're in...

Hi all, first post here and about to move into the neighborhood...
Couldn't resist posting... It seems that some of the people posting here either don't watch local & US news. This country is far from being the best in the world. Sadly, we rate rather high in several undesired lists, criminality being one of the most prominent.
Countries selling their own as slaves... well, do a search, guess which country is a consumer.
Don't misunderstand me, I love this country, but it seems that we let our ego go wild a lot more than anyone should. We have a long list of unsolved problems that need to be addressed and yet here we are, playing cops half-way across the world. What started as a reasonable, justified, and welcomed (by us and even the Afghanis) incursion against terrorism became a twisted web of half-thought actions and poorly made excuses.
I just hope that our strugling to recover economy can survive the bleeding it is being subjected to...

The most ignorant sentiment ever. If something isn't working, just run and leave instead of trying to fix it?

That's a slam against any immigrant that has ever come to this great country. Why don't they stay and try to fix their home country instead of coming to the US?

Just what exactly is this poster trying to imply? That as a country we systemically engage is human slavery consumption? Sorry if yoyu don't like it but I am sick of people trying to equate our Country to evil dictatorships. Why would someone who believes such nonesense want to stay.

Quite frankly, I'm glad we aren't in line with a lot of the countries of this world. France, Iran, Iraq, North Korea...uuummmm, I'll gladly stick with my fellow Americans and be very proud of it!!!

I agree with magius.... It's pretty frustrating the situations the current cronies have gotten us into. It boggles my mind how republicans can blindly support the pres when obvious huge mistakes were made.
Mission Accomplished!
huh?
