I am looking for a good headhunter or recruiter that someone has worked with before. I am tired of commuting to Crystal City and really want out of the job I am in.
To answer Kat (topic was posted in wrong forum) I am currently a facility security officer / administrative manager. But really I am an operations manager. I do jr. analyst work for client and all the HR stuff for local office, security, badging, recruiting and event planning for conferences, vendor accounts, budget, proposals. My "Real" background is in web development, training, multimedia, graphics. Don't ask :) I have been in defense consulting for about 8 years now.

Do you have an active security clearance? And secondly, given your diverse background and skills, what kind of job are you seeking? What would you describe as your ideal job?
I had posted some comments in the other forum but after your responses to my questions posed above, I'd be happy to send you what leads I've found to be useful.

I am looking to do either training, customer service, event management & Planning, operations stuff mainly or analyst work depending on the contract, I was brought to my current job to lead a multimedia team but it never developed. Flexible hours and close to home. Would love help with your contacts.

I was going to send you a private email response but your user id does not seem to have that option. Therefore if you could send me a private email, in turn I'll be able to give you some more info.

Event management & planning, you say?
Close to home, you say? Security, vendors, budgets, proposals?
I've got the perfect job for you! How about joining the Broadlands Live committee! The work environment is great- super flexible hours, you can do as little or as much work as you like. Your colleagues will be among the best & brightest- the sky is the limit. What does it pay? The satisfaction that comes from giving back to the community and creating from nothing something so cool and grandiose- plus you'll be making your neighborhood a more desirable place to live.
Hberg- you are going to be an essential player in this summer concert series!

If I get a closer job to home and don't spread myself so thin now, you are on :)

The company I work for may have something of interest, but would like to correspond directly via email and saw none listed for you. Job would be about 5 miles west of Chantilly, just off of Rt. 50 - sounds like it would be plenty close :-)

Best of luck to you in finding something. I won't be much help in finding anything for you, just was curious. My husband does defense contracting/technical work in Alexandria and would love to work in one of the areas closer to here. The "Dulles Coridor" (spl.) seems to have a lot of this type of work...Bests.
