We missed the Boy Scouts deadline! So, now we're thinking we need to have mulch delivered. Who has everyone used? Would you recommend them? Thanks!

Alot depends if you want to do double duty. That is, first shovel the mulch into a wheelbarrow, then shovel it out.
You may want to think about going to Home Depot, seeing about renting their truck for an hour, and have them load up with all the bags of mulch you'll need.
Much easier using bags to spread it around !!

christinaandrob, sorry you missed the deadline. As it happens Troop 970 is delivering mulch this weekend 31,000 bags worth. That's right 31,000 bags (for perspective a semi trailer holds 900 bags) And it all gets done in a weekend, rain or shine.
Anyway, two suggestions.
First, Troop 970 always has bags left over, and we do take orders in the field. If you email me with your address, cell phone, home phone, and the amount of bags you want, I can pass it on to the coordinator. That goes for anyone who reads this message, but you got to do it quick...limited access to email. If you prefer you can call the mulch coordinator to order, the cell number is (540) 454-3708.
Second suggestion. The Loudoun Landfill has free mulch. Good quality in fact, but it is bulk. You shovel it, you haul it. I've been surprised at how good this stuff is. In the past, landfills shoved anything and everything thru the shreader. Not this stuff, it appears to be exactly like the stuff you buy at Home Depot. In fact, just like the stuff you get from the Scouts. Draw back is you got it get it yourself. But it is free.
