Have any of you gone to any of these Pediatric Dentists in the area? Good or bad experience?

Ajit Patel - Truro Parish
Neda Etessam - Junction Plaza
Mala Britto - Professional Plaza

Yes, Brim, I used the search function before I posted. Didn't find what I was looking for. :D

I just went to Dr. Patel last week for my 3 year old. Because she was apprehensive, he only "counted" her teeth while checking for cavities. In 6 months he'll do a cleaning. She got stickers & prizes. He seemed real nice & there are TV's in the room so they can be distracted!

We've used Dr. Britto for my four-year-old daughter. She's very nice and gentle, and the staff does everything they can to make the experience as non-threatening as possible. I'd definitely recommend her.

You should try Dr. Linda Dean-Daru in Ashburn Village, she is incredible and the entire staff is great with the kids.

I have been thinking about using her - only drawback is she doesn't take our insurance. We'd end up paying a little more but it may be worth it. I've heard good things about her.

I didn't like Dr. Linda at all. She always tried to push gas on my kids and her office was always running very behind.

Wow...we haven't experienced any of those issues with Dr. Linda.

You never experienced excessive waits? I went there for over two years and I always waited at least 40 minutes to be taken back. She tries to insist on gas when drilling teeth. I told her no and she was very pushy about it.

I really haven't. We've waited 5 or 10 minutes but never more then that. As far as the gas goes, the techs ask but that's it. Nobody tried to push it on us. I also like the fact you get to sit right beside her and the kids while she is working. Most dentists I've taken my kids to take them back and won't let you in while they work. I don't send my kids into the doctor alone and have never liked sending them into the dentist alone. That was a huge selling point for me.

We have seen Dr Britto and my kids love her. the staff has been so kind and friendly that my 20 month old was wanting to sit in one of the chairs and have her teeth looked at too just like her big sister. I have been to several other places and my oldest would never even let anyone see her teeth but here she has let them do everything and we have even had to have a cavity filled and she is still ok going back

We really like John A Tsaknis. He's not strictly pediatric. We all go to him. The staff is great, too! He's at 20600 Gordon Park Square Suite 110.

We've been going to Dr Linda for years - my kids love it b/c the waiting room is FUN - however, we do spend a lot of time waiting, and they do have a reputation for pushing questionable procedures... I definitely wouldn't go there if they didn't take my insurance!
BTW - I had to ask about and decline multiple times because they wanted to give my child gas before sealing a tooth! It took about 3 minutes to do and wasn't at all uncomfortable!

Virginia Dental Solutions(where Caroline works) near the old Shopper's - Dr. Kendra she is awesome and my kids love her! They are always prompt and I've never had them push anything on me. We have been patients, all of us, for almost 10 years!

Dr. Valerie Woo at NOVA Pediatric Dentistry (http://www.momstouchdentistry.com/) was highly recommended to us. We've been twice and it's been a good experience both times. My child has no negative ideas about going to the dentist so it's an easy visit for us. The office is near Waxpool and Loudoun County Parkway. I know they take Delta Dental.

IMHO, I wouldn't recommend Dr. Lynda - you wait forever, her fees are well above what is "usual and customary" (according to my insurance co. and my personal experience) and she pushes unnecessary procedures, such as general anesthesia to fill a cavity with a non-combative child. I took my kids there for 4 years before I moved on. Our next dentist was Dr. Patel (over by Dunkin D's). He was very impatient and downright scary with my 2 kids, neither of which is usually nervous at the dentist. I'm not sure why he's a ped. dentist, because he seemed to dislike kids. Our whole family now goes to Dr. Parikh - she's in Sterling, but is wonderful. Not strictly a ped. dentist, but great with kids. She even lets them "paint" the flouride on each other's teeth (with supervision, of course)! Her office is in Countryside - 703-444-5678.

we have taken our almost 4 yr old to Dr Lynda, but decided not to continue as they don't accept our insurance (MetLife) and it is getting a little pricey. So, the next option was Dr Valerie Woo (NOVA Pediatric Dentistry) and so far we love it. My daughter has no complaints and the staff and the doc have been great. We are actually having some work (cavity and sealant) performed on her tomorrow.

We started with Dr. Patel and he proceed to scare the crap out of my child. He had terrible behavior with a scared child. We tried Dr. Val Woo, but she would not do her own analysis of my child dental needs and believed the reports from Dr. Patel. We now go to Dr. Mike Gazori in Landsdowne. He is awesome. My child actually looks forward to seeing him. I highly recommend him.

Dr lynda pushes the gas. I don't like that at all.

I'm surprised by the comment about Dr. Lynda using general anesthesia for a cavity fill. That is very strange and I would definitely have questioned and refused it if it had been me. She's done fillings on both of my kids with gas and local, and both times I had ample opportunity to opt out of the gas. With my previously dentist-phobic child I was all for the gas. We have been very impressed with her extraordinarily calm and comforting presence and would be reluctant to switch from her. I can't speak about the fees relative to other dentists though.

Is Dr. Britto in Ashburn? I think we saw her 4 years ago when she was with Ashburn Dental Assoc. in Ashburn, but all I'm finding is her location in South Riding. Does anyone know whether she is also in Ashburn?
