What happened at the BRMC hearing last night?

Can anyone who was there give details? What did the Board end up doing?

There was about four hours of public comment. Pretty much evenly split between for and against the hospital. The board took comments under advisement and then approved a motion to have the application reviewed further by the Transportation and Land Use Committee. The application appeared to be placed on the July TLUC agenda.

Of the split, what is your perception of the geographics of the split? I.e., where did folks live who were for/against?

I agree that the article is a good summary. As for the arguments regarding the children & traffic, does anyone know if those same concerns were raised at the hearings for Clyde's? (i.e. a bar basically across the street from a playground)

That article is full of BS on both sides.

For example, "Glenn Maravetz, president of the Ashburn Farm Association, read a resolution from the HOA in support of the hospital. He said the association represents 4,000 homes and about 12,000 residents."

YAY! That's like saying that now that GW bush was re-elected ~51/49%, that everyone voted for him. What were the voting numbers for Ashburn Farm?

Does anyone know of a web site that details and compares for-profit and non-profit hospitals? pros and cons.

their HOA does represent the community...
... and last I checked, most votes don't require 100% to be considered valid.

GW represents the US.. regardless of if you voted for him or not. He may not represent YOU, but his position is valid based on what put them there.

We had the road spam here too, inside the community on the 606 median. Our HOA took a formal position of support for the CPAM and against the BRMC location (not against HCA). It all went down along with the leftover primary signs, as all were illegally placed. Committed volunteers or paid ones doing the placing?

If you consider Board decisions as BS, I assume you consider the board decision by the planning commission as BS.

There is one difference, the AFBOT was elected by its members, the PC is appointed.

I disagree.

By the way, the Ashburn Farm HOA is within the "Impact Zone" I know it is hard to accept but there are many within the Impact Zone that support the hospital.

No I did not put up the road spam. If any of it was in Ashburn Farm it was taken down. Staff and volunteers removes all road spam, regardless if it is political, commercial, or otherwise. That would include BRMC signage. I strongly support this practice.

I don't consider the board decisions BS, just the rhetoric on both sides... :)
