Other than driving, what have people found is the best way to get to WFC from Ashburn? I know I can drive to Herndon Park N' Ride and catch a bus. But are there any other alternatives that have a flexible schedule?

As of July 1, 2011 there is a new West Falls Church express bus route (http://www.loudoun.gov/controls/speerio/resources/RenderContent.aspx?data=a7a063a39f4447d599cfea661a 9ac4dd&tabid=333) for Monday-Friday. It leaves from the Ashburn North Park and Ride station, which is near Strayer University on Russell Branch.
There also is one from Potomac Falls to West Falls Church (http://www.loudoun.gov/controls/speerio/resources/RenderContent.aspx?data=9814a0c2da8548bcab7122e357 ff8af3&tabid=333).
For more information, visit the Loudoun County Bus Service (http://www.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=969) schedules.

Coming from Broadlands SouthernWalk to the Russell Parkway Park & Ride, which is the better (less traffic) route?
1. via Claiborne/Rte 7 or
2. via Shellhorn/ Loudoun County Parkway?
Thanks.

Loudoun County pkwy backs up at Waxpool, but is smooth sailing after (watch for varying speed zones and cops!!). Claiborne is pretty decent up to rt 7, though you might hit some school bus traffic on Claiborne (when schools are in session). Rt 7 is decent most days, but sometimes does get backed up approaching the Loudoun county parkway to 28 intersection. I think you want to try both and see what works best for you. When faced with route choices, I've typically driven one route for one whole week, then the other for another week, and then decide based on weekday patterns. Of course, do remember that schools start in two weeks, and traffic patterns tend to take a couple of weeks to settle down, once school starts.
