Virginia Energy Choice

Does anyone have any experience switching Gas and/or Electric utility providers? Is there any savings? I have a SF home and my bills (Gas and Electric) range from $50-$300. With everything that I have been reading about the possible upcoming natural gas shortage I am not sure if a new provider/plan would help.

Advice/Opinions?
