We just got a quote to finish our basement from Patrick Gallagher Contracting, everything but carpet. We currently have the metal studs completed and the bathroom is plumbed: need wiring, drywall, paint and trim work. Quote included ceramic tile, in the bathroom and at the entrance to the outside.

How did your basement turn out? I am looking for a contractor to "assist" with a bathroom, as I'd love to do the framing/sheetrock/lighting myself, but do not know how to work with the "rough-in plumbing" and would like help in that area.

Any one else have Contractor Suggestions? Tyger? Speck? How did your search turn out?

We have not selected a contractor yet because of the holidays, etc., and we're looking at references from some of the contractors.

We used Ashburn Classic Custom Builders. They started our basement in December 2002 and finished by early February 2003, just like they said. We were very happy with their work.
