Delivery of washer/dryer to third floor.

For those who have the laundry room on the third floor or top floor of their home. Did the delivery people bring the washer and dryer to the top floor or did they only delivered it to the bottom floor? I'm looking to buy a washer and dryer but I don't know if I'm going to be stuck moving them upstairs by myself. If you know of places that do delivery washer/dryer to the top floor, please let me know. Also if there are any good applicance stores in the area. So far I'm looking at best buy and circuit city. Maybe home depot and lowes.

Sears delivered ours to the second floor and installed them in the "laundry closet". They hooked them up and hauled the boxes away. I thought this was pretty standard, but I could be mistaken. I have seen a lot of washers and dryers going into the townhomes across the street, which have three floors.

Additionally I talked them into not charging for delivery and knocking a few bucks off since they couldn't deliver the day we moved in as we initially requested. Everything is negotiable :D

Lowe's delivered our dryer to the top floor and installed.

Best Buy recently delivered ours to the 2nd floor (our top level). A word of caution. Our old one was in place all 8+ years we've been in the house. We never replaced our hoses (I believe the guidance is to replace them each 5 years to avoid hose breakage and a flood). After all this time our one hose coupling welded itself to the plumbing and the installers couldn't remove the hose. Thus, they left the old hose with the new washer.

We continued to try to remove the old hose after Best Buy left, and unfortunately they had stripped the threads and the main valve ended up coming off (thus having a free flow of water on the 2nd floor).

I don't know how to advise this be prevented by others, but my advice is:

1) Change your hoses more frequently than every 8 years.
2) Know where your main water shut-off valve is before your installers come.
3) Be thankful that Home Depot is so close by and open at night.

They should delivered the washer and dryer to where it needs to be installed. I didn't even tell them my lundry closet was on the top floor but when the delivery was made, they took it all the way to the bedroom level and completed the installation. BTW, We purchased ours from Best Buy.
