Lawn debris pickup

I thought that lawn debris was supposed to be picked up with the recycling on Wednesdays. If this is incorrect, please, can someone tell me when I am supposed to put it out.

it is supposed to be picked up on Wednesday, but it is a separate pass from the recycling guys, frequently several hours later. And if they can't tell it's yard waste (because it's in regular trash bags or such) they won't pick it up.

I had it in a paper "lawn refuse" bag. I finally took it in Thurs. morning. I guess I will try again this week.
