Michelangelos closed there doors last night, we were having dinner and they told us it was there last night, rent went up too much, also I just passed Callaloos and it looked like they were taking all furniture out of that restaurant also

A group of us planned to eat at Callaloo Friday night, but the sign on the door said closed until Tuesday, so we went to American Flatbread instead. Callaloo's furniture was still there . . .

just stopped in to Michelangelo- they are still open, just struggling. show your love folks- plan a get together, hold a meeting, have a family night out or a date night- loads of reasons to go to both of the fine restaurants...

Why on earth would anyone raise rents in todays econmy? I suppose to make up for the other tennants they expect to lose, but it seems to me they would only lose more tennants who are unable to pay a higher rent. Such practices will lead to an empty shopping center. I hope Michelangelos survives.

Callaloo is always closed on Mondays. I'm holding out hope that that is all it is for them.

Very sorry about Michelangelo's and Tijuana Flats closing.

Tijuana Flats was marginal, I'm surprised it lasted this long.

Caliloo (sp) was great, we ate there a few times a month, but I noticed it was never really busy. It's a shame since it was truly a good neighborhood restaurant. .

Anothai is not going anywhere as they do okay in the carry-out business. As with other restaurants though they could certainly use the sitdown traffic.

SO, get out and support your favorite, local restaurants before they DO have to consider closing.

These are hard times and luxuries and discretionary spending will be decreasing.

It is just a bad time to have a business that is based on luxury spending. :(

We just ate there about a couple of weeks ago. Their food was wonderful. I know a lot of people who loved it. I haven't seen anything on them closing. Where was that posted? We're eating out just as much as we always have.

Thank you for your concern about Anothai. We are doing ok. We could have done better had the economy been in the normal condition. Since the weather has been cold, our customers tend to order our takeout and delivery more so the result is less dine-in customers. But we are offering many promotions that allow our customers to still enjoy our healthy Thai food without hurting their budget. We offer $10 and $25 cerfiticate through restaurant.com (dinein only). Kids also eat free on Mon-Thu (dinein only). We have $7 coupon in the discount sold at every school. We also participate the "Shop and Win" sponsored by Van Metre. And last but not least, we just introduced 2 new dishes; Limon Fish and Limon Shrimp. Regular price is $15.9 but you can try them for only $9.9 by bringing in our monthly email that was sent out 2 days ago.

Please come out and support your favorite local restaurant.

    Regards.
    Lalida

The Robek's in the Wegman's shopping center is having the same 'sale', so maybe it's a true 'company wide' sale?

I used to eat at Tijuana Flats at least every other week. I really liked their hard tacos and queso and am sad to see them go. I drove by today for lunch hoping this was just a rumor but the lights/signs were off, door was locked, and no one was inside. There was no other indication of being closed as the tables/etc were all still in place, just no one there. Their web site seems to be down and calling the phone number returns a line disconnected message. I wonder if the closing is company wide.

Reminds me... is Sal's still up and alive, too? Their website was down and when I called it just rang and rang and rang. This was a few days ago.
