    KILL THEM!

I definitely would use glue traps. No poison for other critters to get into and you see "satisfaction". I don't get the humane concern. What's worse, being attacked by a vicious teeth bearing twenty times your size killing machine, or poison that slowly rots you to death. (The problem with poison is you never know where they'll crawl and die, could be in your wall, and then you'll deal with the effects for months after they expire)

For goodness sake, they are MICE. Rodents. Kill them don't just shove the problem over to your neighbors.

Sorry, I just don't feel like having my children or me see the torn carcasses on the deck from trying to get off of a glue trap and I don't feel like having my dogs "play" with carcasses either. I'm not setting out snap traps because I don't want to see a trail of blood across my deck when they don't work. You'll be pleased to know, though, that the traps I have been setting resulted in the termination of their lives...all 5 of them. Happy?

And please don't accuse me of shoving the problem off on my neighbors. I actually happen to like my neighbors and wouldn't do that to them.

I am just wondering what sort of "satisfaction" you would garner seeing a living creature tear themselves apart and dying a slow and torturous death?

I've used sticky traps for years. Never saw a victim that was pulled apart. They are intact. I think they expire of exhaustion or stress. No mess, no blood. The messy part is the glue, if you happen to get it on your hands or clothing. I admit a pet around stick traps could be a problem. I'd probably try and find a place to put the trap out of reach of domestic pets. Also, put the traps along the walls or a structure. Mice are blind (really) and they use structure to assist movement.

The "satisfaction" I get is from eliminating them from my domicile, and saving the women and children from great emotion strife. My elephant is grateful also.

    They are RODENTS. Kill them!

I have seen an eyeball stuck to the glue, or one leg ... have you heard them scream as they are tearing themselves to pieces? They are mice doing micey things ... get them out of your house back into the wooded areas and they do their micey things in the woods. Or kill them, but do it humanely. I have real issues with torturing any living creature to death, sorry.

What do you think poison does? It KILLS THEM. But they leave their life forms in unpredictable places, like in the walls, that end up smelling to remind you of your deed.

BTW, you saw an eyeball stuck in glue? Impressive, that's very very small. To answer your question, no, I have never heard a mouse scream before. Also, that "micey think" you're talking about is all about making more micies.

I've never seen body parts on a sticky. Your mileage may vary.

We did not use poison either, for the very reasons you mentioned. :)

You are lucky you have not heard a mouse scream in pain. It is not a pleasant sound. Not pleasant at all :(

They tend to be noisey when caught on the traps until they exhaust themselves.

Well, like I said, I've never heard it, but from your description it sounds like "victory".

So, we have uncovered the entire nesting area of the mice and the holes and nests they are using to get around our deck and into our garage. Again, nothing inside our house. Enlisted the services of Connor's Pest Control and we have poison baits set up in the garage and under the deck. Hate the thought of it, but we needed more professional help. Nothing like some good olf fashioned traps (snap type) baited with peanut butter. Those traps kill them instantly. I've seen them eat there way through the glue traps, not good.

I found that chocolate powder (hot chocolate mix) worked well also as bait.

Seriously, the cat thing is worth a try. Just the scent of a cat nearby might be enough to deter the mice. That and getting rid of the birdseed, which I'm sure you've done. Have Sharse send her cat over for the day and hang out on the porch. Use the natural enemies approach. Worth a shot. Hey, that's an idea... shot. just kidding

Connor's pest control $289. Glue traps less then $10. All for a friggin rodent.

How do you know what I paid for the pest control? You don't. It's not all for A friggin rodent. It's for A LOT of friggin rodents. Criminey.

As for the cat, we did keep our cat out on the deck for the majority of the weekend. We haven't seen any on the deck for a few days now. Probably because the poison is doing its job now. Hopefully the cat's presence helped a bit. Although, I'm not sure how much of a threat she'd be...she preferred laying there and sunning herself!

Husband cleaned out the garage this weekend and uncovered a nest INSIDE the tube of the leaf blower. Also found a nest underneath the grill where the propane tank goes.

We were using peanut butter on our traps on the deck and that seemed to work well. I'm hoping now that I won't have to try the hot chocolate powder...ever!

Got a clue from the price here.

Seriously, I am glad you're getting rid of them.
