Looking for several corks to finish a school project. My son is a few corks short of a corkboard. I'll gladly take corks off your hands!

You should not talk about your son like that.

We have some of the new synthetic corks would those work? or do you need real cork corks?

Redon, I KNEW you would say something to that effect! We need about 12 (that's being generous). So if you have some, that would be terrific!

Are cork corks going away? It seems like the hootch we buy seems to have the fakeo corks. Is this going to spread across the hootch industry or only some bottlers?

Of course if the wine does not have a screwcap or come in a box, it is too high-falutin for me. :)

i'm seeing screw caps on more middle end wine than ever before. there is something thrilling about the *POP* of a cork and you anticipate the flavor inside of that bottle... but otherwise...

i think real cork is dying away slowly but surely in wine bottles.

Yes, sadly, real corks are going the way of the dinosaur, the dodo and compitent politicians. Expect to see more & more fakes and  screw tops.

Also - don't be too surpised to see more & more box wines. The reason being is that it's cheaper to produce, ship AND as the wine is "decanted" the inner bladder collapses, squeezing out thr air allowing the wine to stay fresher longer.

    I know! The Horror!

Knowing Kasodad, I am sure the ambiguity was intentional. :)

Note to everyone: before gushing over Redon's dog...put on plastic gloves! Other than being peed on, it was great to see you again and my son thanks you for the corks. We had exactly enough to finish the project! :)
