I really enjoyed doing the Infinitive Broadlands Traithlon last year, and would be interested in joining a team to do it again (and/or the others in the Infinitive Series as well).

Whether you want to win the team competition, or just have a go at it and have some fun while getting fit, I am open to either scenario. Young, old, whatever. So if you are a runner or swimmer, and are looking for a cyclist to complete your team, let me know!

    My palmares:

Team SDC won the team competition in 2008, and my time of 36:35 was the eighth fastest cycling split overall.

    1. I don't swim. Ever.

    2. I used to run, everything from 5Ks to 50K mountain trail runs. Two years later, I couldn't cross my legs without lateral knee pain. Then I saw what my lifelong marathon-running Dad went through at 52 yrs. old when he snapped a lower patellar tendon walking down the stairs to our seats at Beaver Stadium. What a nightmare. There's a lot to be said for low impact activities, and running ain't one of 'em.

I'll stick with my specialty, thank you very much!

I have other road races this year, just seeing if I can latch on with a team to fill some other weekends.

indeed -- cycling rocks... and saves your knees in comparison. I hate running... 5K is the max for me =) Swimming is probably one of the best workouts... but in a triathlon in open water it can be scary.... you can walk instead of run and you can stop the bike, but if you stop swimming, you're done 8)

This year I'm going try one of those adventure races... they seem less boring than standard tris...

Actually, the running events I preferred were the off-road duathlons (5K trail run, 25K mountain bike leg, 5K trail run) and ultra-trail runs. The softer mountain trails really saved your knees, and the scenery was outstanding. But you had to enjoy the ups-and-downs running between the mountaintops and valleys. And watch out for those exposed tree roots!

Maybe Team SDC should reunite for one of the 2 races :)

Why not? We kicked #@s before, no reason we couldn't do it again.

I bet we would be even faster this year. [IMG]
