After a quiet weekend, it looks like the sightings have picked back up again. Here is the latest:

    1) Back to Arrowhead Court off of Golden Meadow. This is the single family home neighborhood right across the street from Broadrun HS. Of course I haven't seen the cat yet and it was right infront of me when I was getting my cat hunting items out of the car!
    2) Shellhorn (Gravel Road part) - Two sighting in this area.
    3) Sunstone/Ridgeway - this is confussing because there is a female cat in the area that looks like Sunny, only smaller.

I have some really sad news this morning.

Three or four houses down from out house we found the decomposing body of a long hair black cat lying in the grass close to a large storm drain. It was hard to make a positive identification, but we are pretty sure it is Sunflower.

Thank you everyone for your hope, your help, and your kindness. I have been amazed by the community support we’ve received and the true compassion shown by our neighbors and friends.

Sunflower will be in our memories.

I'm really sorry. Every time we were out, we'd keep an eye out for Sunflower and every time we saw one of your signs, my daughter would say "They really love their cat."

Ugh, so sorry to read about this...

Wine4KC there's at least something good that came out of all this. You brought many people in our community (and beyond!) together. You were able to bring out the good in many people around here and for that, I'm sure many of us will be better individuals.

    God bless Sunflower.

Your loss reminded me of our loss last year when we had to put my beloved cat Buddy down. I still get misty-eyed with sadness on occassion as I did upon reading your sad news.

I was also reminded of the many years of joy he brought us. These thoughts occur more frequently as time goes by as I hope yours will too.

Although I don't post much, I was following this and keeping my eyes open on my daily walks. I'm so sorry to hear about Sunflower. I was so hoping for a happy ending.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts. It's been a rough day for all of us. I went around today and collected about 40 signs, but I'm sure there are many I've missed. It would be a great help if you see any Sunflower signs to go ahead and take them down. Thanks again everyone.

My condolences to you and your family. Rest in peace, Sunny...
