Are folks here, besides Villager, replacing systems that are in good working order?

Our house has two systems - a regular A/C and a heat pump. The heat pump wasn't working properly* so we replaced it. The regular A/C works fine so we did not replace that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

*The system had a leak and adding more freon (the old style) was getting more expensive as it was being phased out of production and the cost to have it refilled a couple of times a year was getting to be a money pit so we decided to give it the upgrade it needed now rather than keep throwing money at it. Hopefully the other unit (15 years old) will continue to work for a long time and our next big expenditure will be fixing the leaky windows. It's always something. :shakehead:

I received 3 quotes since my upstairs Goodman A/C is out. Dave's, SSI and Climatic. I did like SSI but I'm leaning towards Climatic. Maybe there should be a class action suit against Van Metre for installing such crappy systems!

make sure it is really broken... we ended up putting a new coil in the goodman ac as the old coil was a benchmark coil (garbage)..... and now the system works great (just like downstairs).

Comfort was excellent, and remember the part has a 5 year warrenty.....so you should only have to pay labor

We used Climatic this summer for a new Carrier Infinity system. We found out about them from all of the postings here. Excellent company to work with, we couldn't be happier.

We replaced our system this summer. While I did get multiple quotes, I was thoroughly impressed with both Climatic and John Nugent and Sons. Very professional and pretty much identical info and quotes - that was a good feeling. Anyone would be very pleased with either one.
