Just saw ad that they have a Broadlands location, anyone know if it is open yet?
I'm guessing it must be going where Del Rio/BBQ place was?

Re: Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant Opening Next to Safeway/Broadlands Plaza

Yes, we were at the Los Toltecos restaurant in Sterling Wednesday, 11/17/10 night in fact. We just stopped on the way back to our farm in Fauquier County area from running errands. Anyway the owners told us that they are leasing the spot where the Blues Bros. BBQ restaurant formerly was located. It is the restaurant space left empty by previous restaurants next to Safeway grocery store. I believe the strip mall is called Broadlands Plaza from what the owner stated.

They also offer Kids Eat Free w/Adult Entree on Wednesdays all day/all night. Coupons maybe also be found on Moneymailer.com. Just type in Sterling zip codes 20164/20165 and when Ashburn opens the zip code for the Broadlands regions.

On a side note, the restaurant will open in December 2010. Since I will be having my 3rd set of multiples due (hopefully after Thanksgiving--a set of twins again--already have quads and another set of twins!),:happygrin:we decided to eat great Mexican food beforehand the birth happens!

Anyway hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving holiday. Good eats!!;)

Re: Los Toltecos Restaurant Opening in Ashburn

    Hi,

Forgot to add that the restaurant offers great lunch specials and has breakfast entrees as part of their lunch specials. Just check out their web site for details.

    www.lostoltecosrestaurant.com (Los Toltecos' site/info.);)

If you don't find coupons on the restaurant site, check the following for restaurant coupons too. Retailmenot.com and Couponclippers.com offers restaurant coupons (local/nationwide), grocery coupons, and other retailer coupons/codes too. Great web sites. Use zip codes for Sterling 20164/20165. Moneymailer.com offers grocery, retailer, and restaurant coupons/codes too. Couponclippers.com is the same as Coupon Clippers magazine that is mailed out nationwide with local restaurant and other business coupons.

    Web sites are below--

www.couponclipper.com (Coupon Clippers' site/info. Same as the Coupon Clipper magazine info.)
    www.retailmenot.com (Retail Me Not's site/info.)
    www.moneymailer.com (Moneymailer's site/info.)

Went by the spot today.....nothing but a "for lease" sign in the window. Can't believe they can open in a month.

The latest "Consumer's Eye" magazine flyer thing has an ad for it that says "Grand Opening" but does not give a date. It does have coupons, though.

Re: Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant Grand Opening Mid January 2011 Confirmed!

    Hi, "y'all"--

Well, first of all, Happy Thanksgiving early! Hope all of "y'all" are enjoying the festivities of this week. We are "patiently" (?) awaiting the birth of our 3rd set of multiples. The multiples are a set of twins. We originally thought that the babies were due toward the end of October or first of November. Oh well that is the way it goes, I guess.

Our doctors are saying they are due sometime this week or early next. Hopefully, after the Thanksgiving holidays. Of course, if they come earlier, I guess as one of my quads told me today, "The twins might be born on Thanksgiving. They can be our own "Butterball Turkey babies!";):) Out of the mouths of "babes" or in our case one of our quads!:)

We told him that this may be a possibility; and we would wait to see. Anyway our family and relatives are here this week on our farm. It is our family's turn to host Thanksgiving dinner for 50 people. Of course, the grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and great grandparents are here helping with all the food/festivities. We have some family in this area so we split the family and friends/relatives between our farms.

Alot of food and fun at our farm with family, friends, and relatives. We told our doctors that if the twins were born on Thanksgiving weekend; they could eat some of our Thanksgiving food. Seriously, I already baked some Mennonite cakes, pies, and pastries for our doctors and their staff. Great practice that we use.:)

Anyway hubby ate at Los Toltecos last Friday in Sterling for lunch with some friends from work. He asked the owners when the Grand Opening would be for the Ashburn location (which is indeed next to Safeway). They told him it would be mid January 2011. Probably 2nd week of January 2011.

The reason is (per the owners) it takes about 5 to 6 weeks to get all the restaurant equipment, booths, etc. established in the restaurant. They were hoping by mid-December 2010; but due to the holiday season, it would not work out. The owners said to check the local coupon magazines or online (see previous web sites where I posted on this thread) for future BOGO entrees, 1/2 half off entrees, specials, etc.

Don't forget Kids Eat Free on Wednesdays--at Sterling, VA location all day/all night. Our kids are eagerly awaiting when we are able after babies are born to go back to the Sterling restaurant.:)

Well, hope this helps everyone's desire for Mexican food. Enjoy!

    Foodie & Family :)

Foodie, thanks for the info about the restaurant. Could I make a small suggestion though? Either start a new thread about you're life's happenings, or start a blog. Nothing personal, but I honestly don't see how all the above has anything to do with the opening of a new Los Toltecos restaurant...

    Thanks.

Went to LT tonight for dinner and talked with the owner. He confirmed Foodie's date of the 2nd week of January and seemed really excited about the press he's getting on the forums here in the Badlands. He brought out the floor plan to show me how it's going to be set up (pretty much the same as it is right now). They are going to open up the door to the left of the entrance so there is a second entrance to the bar area. They are also working with the landlord and county to build an exterior covering for the patio area. He also said that he received a really, really good deal on the rent because his Woodbridge location (and Sterling too, I think) are rented from the same landlord. He did have to sign a 20 year lease (5 year base, 15 option years). He is looking forward to coming out to Ashburn!

Re: Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant Grand Opening for Broadlands/Ashburn

    Fellow Foodies--

Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant will open 01/21/11, Friday.

Hubby met some friends at the location in Sterling today for lunch and he asked the owner when their Ashburn location would open in Broadlands. Owner said Grand Opening should be ready to go 01/21/11.

Don't forget to check the coupon sites that I posted earlier on this thread for discounts. Hubby had a BOGO 1/2 price Entree Lunch/Dinner coupon today that he used with friends.

    Enjoy!

    Foodie;)

Love their food! Good luck trying to find someone that speaks English...we wanted to sit outside at the Sterling location and no one knew what we were saying. It took us 15 minutes to find a manager who spoke broken English to tell him we wanted to sit outside because it was beautiful out. What a way to take your out of town in-laws to a nice authentic Mexican restaurant only to be frustrated by clueless wait staff.

A fuera = Outside in Spanish.

You can't get any more authentic than having mostly Spanish spoken in a Mexican Restaurant. Hopefully, you kept your sense of humor and said, "This restaurant is just like eating in Mexico."

We ate at the Sterling location tonight. Very busy and very good. We asked about the Ashburn location and got the "3 week" answer again. The hostess said something about construction, but come one, is "3 weeks" always their answer? So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
