    Don't you agree? So, with out a community there is no future and no reason for a HOA. It takes people to buy Van Metre HOmes, who then SELF creates a HOA, does it not? People & communities BUILD for the future and that creates the future. Self employed HOA's and anti- GMU and youth of tomorrow, Should be ashamed.

    As a Former, Regional Manager of Van Metre Investement Properties Division. I can tell you that what's going on in the community is NOT what Mr. AG Van Metre, Sr. would've wanted nor, would his family approve.


    The truth hurts and "Building for generations... takes Trust and what trust is defined of...... I should know. I wrote the ad for Mr. AG Van Metre, sr and his company. It's what he believed in.

    Is there some kind of community-led protest against the GMU campus that's supposed to go in? I haven't heard of one, all I've heard was good things about that project. (I'm pretty sure the OP meant to say "It takes a community....") Although, in my opinion, indiscriminate building just for the sake of building stuff isn't the way to build for a strong community.....

    indisciriminate building would infer it was just done blindly... that property has always been set for commercial development. And if you were the one who owned the property purely for the purpose of developing it... you wouldn't say it was 'just for the sake of building stuff'.

    This is a planned development and that property has always been planned for commercial development. I find something like GMU better then more nail places. VM could have worked a deal to have it rezoned for something much worse...

    True...they could have gone with a different development idea that could have fared for the worse. I think GMU would enhance the community value. More folks would like to go to school close to home instead of having to drive so far. Not only that, but housewives could take classes there and not be so far from their own kids schools. I think this is a win-win situation.

    I think you misunderstood my feelings about the GMU campus; I'm all for it. I was wondering if there was some kind of protest against it because the original poster said "Self employed HOA's and anti- GMU and youth of tomorrow, Should be ashamed."

    I think I tried to say too many things in my post; possibly lack of sleep from having to sleep without AC last night because of the power outage. Sorry I didn't make my support for GMU more clear :happygrin:

    Well, I think it means exactly what it says.

    People purchased VM homes in a planned "community". As the community has grown so has our willingness to support and accept VM's generosity to GM to build an annex in our community, for the greater good of all - hence "building for the future" double entendre!
