This is Steven Briesemeister from Roofer911, I would like to comment on the post from Greg Price. First, I’d like to say, never at any time did I meet or speak with Greg Price when trying to sell roof repair work at his rental property. The only person I spoke too when at the house was an elderly woman who claimed to be the tenant that I originally thought was Greg’s wife Rose and that no pressure whatsoever in the slightest was used to sell any additional work which the tenant would attest to.

Two days after the work was done I received a phone call from a very irate person who claimed to be Greg Price, who also lives in Broadlands, husband of Rose Price whose name was on the contract. Even though, his wife gave us the approval to repair all areas that were leaking, Greg was very upset because his wife’s name was on the contract and not his. As Greg said to me verbatim, my wife doesn’t know anything and I didn’t give you authorization for any additional repairs. My reply was, being that your phone number was not on the contract only your wife’s and tenant how was I to contact you? With hesitation along with a very cold stare, Greg then proceeded to call me a liar, cheat and so many other horrible words which caused me to be stunned, I accidentally blurted out in retaliation, you have some major issues and need to be put on medication. In all my 38 years doing roofing that is the first time I ever disrespected a customer and will most definitely be the last.

In the past two days I’ve spoken to three different attorneys in hope of filing suit against Greg Price for defamation, Libel and Slander for all lies. All attorneys have said filing suit of this type is very difficult and you need hard proof. The only proof I have is the elderly tenant who knows exactly how I treated her with nothing but respect and professionalism but I cannot bring myself to subpoena her to court.

P.S. IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS HOW I SHOULD PROCEED NEXT, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE HEARING WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!!!

    Sincerely,
    Steven Briesemeister

Getting repairs done on your roof can be a scary proposition because it’s one of those situations with “hidden” areas. You know what I mean if you’ve ever had a plumber crawl under your sink, make a lot of noise, a big mess and then hand you the bill. How do you know he really did anything?

It’s just like that when you have roof leak or mold growing on the ceiling. A roofing contractor can do all sorts of things on top of the house or inside the attic, but how do you know what really happened unless you have a roofer “cam” running the whole time. :)

When I bought my first house 7 years ago in Ashburn, I looked up a roofing company on the Internet. I liked Roofer911 because they were local and they were voted the top roof repair company in America by Sears. The owner of the company, Steven Briesemeister answered the phone when I called. I was nervous because I saw a damp spot around the light fixture in the second floor hallway. He assured me that if there was a leak he would make sure it did not do any more damage.

Sure enough, Mr. Briesemeister found a leak in the roof where the flashing was loose. Before I hired his crew to fix it, he encouraged me to compare his estimate with other roofing companies. His quote was on par with 2 other companies. I hired him because he took the time to explain the process. About 4 years ago after a tree fell on the house during a bad storm, he showed up at 2am to divert the water pouring into my son’s bedroom.

I now own 3 other rental properties in the area. Roofer911 is the only roof company I would call to work on my houses. Mr. Briesemeister gets to the point and gets the job done. I have never called him back for the same problem. When I thought I would need a new roof on one of my houses, he fixed it for a fraction of the cost and made the shingles last for 3 more years. Thank you Roofer911 – you have made my home safe for my family and helped me grow my real estate investment business.

Since you are posting this using a newly created account and as your first post, less than an hour after Roofer911 posted his comment, I need to ask: Did Roofer911 ask you to post this here by chance?

Mr. Linux, I have been following this thread since 09.28.2011. I own multiple properties and check the forum from time to time for feedback on local contractors. I was curious to see what other people had to say about Roofer911, because I have worked with them. I have a very busy schedule and don’t have time to banter my thoughts around on forums. Today I had to speak up because I saw somebody say something less than kind about Mr. Briesemeister. You have a respectable business owner being slammed on your site and you are allowing it.

It just amazes me how rudely people can be treated when their work is good or considered “suspect” when they are simply trying to be a good American citizens and supportive to the community.

I hate it when people try to shoot down posters with negative reviews. I want to hear both sides of the story and I don't get scared away from a company because someone has a bad experience with them . Most homeowners have to dig to get to the truth about contractors. We all know that most contractors have had a customer who doesn't like them.

I don't like it when I see the contractor try to argue with negative posts.

Thanks to everyone with good and bad comments for adding to this thread. The more information I have, the more likely I am to make a better decision.

I don't think anybody tried to "shoot down" posters with negative reviews here. If Roofer911 provided subpar work or poor service, I'd like to know about it too so that I can factor that into my future purchase/contracting decisions.

But that's not what this particular one-time poster wrote -- he launched into a rant about "rip-off," etc. without offering any description of what happened, what he paid, timeline, etc. It just sounded like a deranged rant and not a legitimate complaint with details.

I have nothing to do with Roofer911 except being a very satisfied customer. From the beginning, with my very first review, I detailed my experience with this company, including price paid, description of work, why I chose to go with this company, etc. I'm a pretty tough and demanding customer and have gone through several different roofers. So far, Roofer911 has provided me with very prompt (usually same day) and courteous service.

I personally think that contractors and businesses should do their best to please their customers and to honor their warranties. But in the rare case they run into an unreasonable one who just can't be pleased (unless he gets services/goods for free), they should sometimes just walk away rather than continue to engage with the person in question. Some people, for whatever reason, have a lot of time and get a kick out of getting into arguments all over the internet. It's just best not to deal with such people.

I am trying to get the post that I wrote earlier (Post # 34 in this thread) deleted at the request of the poster (me). I emailed the "contact us" address at the bottom of the page, but have received no response. Does anyone know how to delete a post from the forum? I mistakenly wrote my comments on my personal experience with a company in a way that can be construed a general way of doing business. I would like this removed because I do not wish for it to be interpreted that way.

I also follow this thread and, frankly, I've seen enough satisfied customers to convince me that Roofer911 would be a good service to call for an estimate if I needed repair. I also don't trust when people join a message board just to bash a service or a company. So, their reviews (in my opinion) are taken with a grain of salt.

Then post a followup explaining what you really meant. We have a general policy of not letting users delete postings because it causes all sorts of issues.

If your feelings/sentiments have changed, post a followup.

I have a small business in Northern Virginia that caters to a very unique need in the roofing industry. However; we are not roofers. With that said, quite often we're asked about roof repairs, roof replacements etc. We refer our clients to Roofer911 for those types of needs. The feedback is always very positive, which is why we'll continue to refer our clients to Steven.

I'm curious now. Would Greg P kindly explain in greater detail what the problems he had were with Roofer911 AND why he wants to have his original post removed?

I have learned over the years and I'm sure many other contractors will agree, that no matter how good a service you perovide, there is always that one person that can never be satisfied! In the case of Greg, I would like very much to hear the TRUTH for his anger and if he truly wants to change his comment?

Greg P. gave his opinion and then he noted his mistake in the manner in which he posted. Can his opinion be left at that, one person's opinion? Steven stated his side, too, so that should be enough for the purpose of this thread.

*I* would not characterize the two posts I read from him as "gave his opinion and then... noted his mistake in the manner in which he posted."

In his first post, he used words like "rip off" to describe a contractor while offering no detail or evidence. Then without any explanation, he writes a short incomprehensible paragraph requesting the deletion of his earlier e-mail.

Look, I don't have a dog in this fight except having experienced good service on several occasion by Roofer911. I gain nothing from endorsing or criticizing this business.

Maybe I was just lucky. Or maybe Roofer911 is that professional to everyone (given the preponderance of evidence, I side with the latter for now). What I do know for certain is that someone else was very accusatory about this particular contractor's business practice. I think if one is going to post something that incendiary, the onus should be on him to provide some details or evidence. Otherwise it becomes defamatory. Given that HE decided to post such a message here, I don't think it's out of place to request some explanation, particularly given this sudden turnaround.

There can be multiple causes for the "sudden turnaround." One of which can be the fact that Steven contacted three different attorneys in hope of filing suit for defamation, libel and slander. That suit is between Roofer911 and the other party and this forum does not need to be the place to settle a suit or fight.

Readers should use the full set of posts to reach a conclusion as to whether Roofer911 is a company in which to use. When I read reviews, an extremely negative review (or a series of negative reviews by the same person) with no detail or evidence is an assessment in which I value less. In the same way, I may not value highly a overly positive review with no detail. In any case, a rant occurred and hopefully it is done. It wasn't the first of its kind on this forum and I doubt it will be the last.

I believe the proprietor of Roofer911 contacted three attorneys to inquire whether suing for liberal was feasible (at least that's what I read from his post). I think he was advised not to pursue such a course and I don't believe there is a suit. So, no, there is no need to litigate it anywhere, let alone here.

I am still curious. Given the vehemence of the initial post and the incomprehensible turnaround, what's the reason? Why isn't he posting a follow-up?

I've written my share of bad reviews (later amended to good reviews in some cases). But I always detailed the work done, price paid, problems incurred, remediation offered if any, etc. And I've never used words like "rip off" etc. that are highly charged (of course, I've never run into an out right fraud... as of yet).

Is it that unreasonable to expect someone who makes accusations like that to at least provide some details?

Nonetheless, you are probably right that we should let the matter drop. Just as suddenly Greg P. appeared, he seems to have disappeared with nary an explanation. Oh, well, that's the internet I guess.

For whatever reason Graig Price had for wanting to change his raging comment and then not do so will only be known to him which we will probably never know.

Greg Price has caused me, my family and all members of Roofer911 so much stress because of his numerous daily threatening emails, 2000 word lying comments that were posted to multiple websites and possible black mail before coming to the Broadlands forum.

In closing, I have retained an attorney and would appreciate so much, if all talk about Greg Price would please stop. Also, I thank all members of this thread for believing in Roofer911 and if it wasn't for you, I truly believe that Greg Price would have never stopped.

And in general, us residents who use these forums for responsible community research have the right approach and intention in mind (usually!)...so Steven, as a contractor serving our community and beyond, I would not worry too much as far as continued business and referrals. Keep focusing on customer service and doing a great job and the rest will take care of itself. Yes, you will never make all the customers happy all of the time.

Thanks for your professionalism and dedication to our community and I wish you luck with your business....even though I have never met you.
