Just wondering how is it OK by county to have a van selling packaged sheets with a huge banner on the corner of 4-way intersec. of Waxpool/Ashburn Village? Perhaps they have a license and an OK by land owner, but I sure hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Trust me, this is all you see on vacant corners in parts of LA. And who would actually want to buy their bedsheets from some strangers parked van????:eww:

Yea that was wild... saw this yesterday just as a sheriff car was driving by...and he did not stop. This seems like a really bad spot for this and seeing the cars stopped with flashers on was not a good thing either.

When I went through that intersection yesterday at approx 5:20pm, there was a deputy there with his lights on. He was speaking to the people that were selling the stuff. I never went back through last night, so i don't know if he told them to pack it in or what.
It did seem very out of place, and i agree....i wouldn't be buying my bed sheets from the back of a van.

Same guy was on Rt 50 near the Chantilly Lowe's tonight, saw him on my way home from work. Didn't see anyone buying the merchandise or any police

Hmmm, maybe he's trying to earn some money to feed his children. Not everyone works in an office or has the means to hold a conventional job.

Maybe, but he is breaking several sections of state code and county ordinances

That's no excuse for illegal activity.

They were at the intersection of Ashburn Village Dr and Waxpool along with 2 Loudoun deputies when I went to gym around noon today (Saturday) and gone when I came out. I guess the deputies chased them off?

It's possible he didn't know. Maybe now he'll set up a kiosk somewhere and sell his wares legally.

What's the difference between a street vendor and the back of a van except a business license perhaps. It doesn't mean his merchandise is inferior. I know a lot of people who would not pass up a deal whether its t-shirts, rugs, knockoff handbags, food, etc.

I'm missing your point. Are you saying he is selling stolen goods?

The jails are full of drug offenders. Over 50% of the jail population is there for non violent drug offenses.

I'm saying people do illegal things and use noble excuses to justify it. not specifically addressing the guy in this topic, I know nothing about him, his goods or his motives. just saying in general that poor and hungry isn't a valid excuse to commit a crime.
