My son's ipod screen cracked and then somehow came completely off and is gone. Can anyone tell me the best way to get a new screen and what it might cost? We have already tried paying a high school buddy $50 to put on the last screen but when it didn't work exactly right after that it wasn't like a business we could go back and remedy the problem so I think I'd prefer to go with a reputable company or at least an adult. Ideas appreciated!

A few months ago I had seen a stall in Fair Oaks mall that advertised this service. Not sure if it is still there.

Did anyone here just pay the money and ship it to Apple? It's expensive.

There are 3rd parties to ship to for fixes... Or buy the parts and do it yourself for like $50. Trying to remember the site we used when maflynn broke hers in the first week she had it :)

I'm going to try something recommended by some people at work called the Zeetron. You can either send it in to them (costs on the site) or fix it yourself for like $60. If you search on Amazon for 'Zeetron' all of their repair kits come up. Apparently it's easy to do and they include everything needed in the kit.

There is a place in South Riding that says they can do that, it is near the Home Depot but I can't remember the name of it.

We had another cracked phone screen and based on that video and a quick cost benefit analysis i decided to buy a kit, gave it to my son, and he fixed his phone just fine. I didnt get the cheapest or the most expensive, paid about $50 for iphone 5 screen including the home button etc to make it easy.

Another DIY option, try iFixit. I recently replaced an iphone battery using their kit.
