I do like their buffet though. I know it's a $1 or $2 more than others but find the quality is there.

imho- i don't WANT cheap Indian food. I want the high quality spices, meats and ingredients that make it taste THAT much better. I tend to go cheap on other areas of my life so I can spend slightly more for a better meal when I go out to eat.

that said- I don't like overpriced lower quality food- Morton's steakhouse is an example. i think their price to quality/value ratio is WAY off.

but we've been staisfied with every meal at saffron to include the buffet and have no issue wth paying more for better. Banjara is also very good and less expensive, but saffron has an edge with us on flavor. we asked for extra spicy and they definitely delivered!

With all of the Indian restaurants out there, you'd think Saffron would try, instead they have walked right under the bar. Not bad, but mediocre would be a compliment.

Years ago before the ownership change, Morton's was much better.

Landry's bought them recently. I think the one is Tysons is closed. Also heard the one in Reston Town Center will be getting a massive renovation but will be open during the process.

    Props to Flemings in Tysons.

Here's hoping Ashburn will get some type of World of Beer place eventually. However, I think there are laws about all alcohol establishments in NOVA.

Morton's went off the approved list when Landry's bought them. The decline in quality is palpable. More business for Cap Grill, Ruth's and Flemings in the same vain. As for town center rats, plenty of other better spots to carouse.

Ive had saffron about 6 times, 50% was good, 40% they didnt listen to requests and 10% the portion was skimpy on chicken. I still try to support them though as they're close.

I wish someone would do a more UK style Indian food here though.

Amen! Actually, I found something pretty close at Costco of all places. They have a great Indian chicken korma that is pretty authentically UK-Indian!!

So...whats the construction inside the old glory days? Office space for another Dr. or dentist? Permanent Office for Van Metre?

Sorry to have offended someone with my brash manner. I do also live here and want to see it better, but unlike the person I offended I dont make money off of the neighborhood.

Not sure if it was noted elsewhere, but there will be a dental office moving into this space, at least according to the construction permit on the door.
