Do I need to submit an application to paint my door and shutters from hunter green to black? The application requires ridiculous documentation submission requirements. A copy of the plat, the manufacturer documents and color information (visual) that seems overly burdensome for such a small change.

Yes, we just had our shutters and door painted and submitted an application. I don't recall submitting a copy of the plat, only a picture of the front house in its current condition, paint chip of the color I wanted, signed application and letter to the committee explaining my request.

Yes, you need to apply. No need for the plat.

Just wondering - is an application required if the front door is repainted with the same color? Our front door is looking faded, and has two areas where the painted chipped off, it was probably just one coat of paint to begin with. I was just going to paint on another coat.

    Nope - only when changing.

Any exterior maintenance where the paint is the same or VERY closely matches the original, no need for an application. Same for hardware, such as light fixtures.
