My knowledge of vBulletin is limited and a google search turned up minimal info on the subject, but is there a config option or module you guys can enable or install that would allow users to ignore all threads started by an individual? If that user is on your ignore list, the thread still pops up.

Also, it'd be nice if when someone is on your ignore list you didn't see anything indicating they'd posted, rather than:

"This message is hidden because ****** is on your ignore list."

If it's possible, it'd be really useful...I'm sure I'm not the only one that would take advantage of it. :)

    Danke...

I would certainly take advantage of it as of late. :)

    +1

Or is there a polite way to tell someone to "put a sock in it"?

Ya, I poked around there before I asked...even used the vbulletin admin control panel demo and didn't see much in the way of the ignore feature.

I did see several posts on various forums requesting this feature. You'd think if the 'ignore all threads started' feature wasn't possible, there would be something that would completely eradicate the person on the ignore list from being seen. :(

Oh well, I guess we'll all continue to suffer. Perhaps it's like a storm, it'll pass in time. :)

If it comes down to it, I'm willing to be the bad guy (imagine that) and do it tactfully...I thought I'd ask about alternate methods first before I spoke up. It's getting to be ridiculous.

Who knows, perhaps this thread will be subtle enough to work. :)

It's becoming really irritating as of late. It seems as if this person is using these forums as her own personal blog.

no kidding. The quantity of posts is irritating for sure, but the content of them is mind boggling.

I'm sorry, I've been holding back for soooo long! How does one have so much time on one's hands with so many children?

Don't ask unless you want a two paragraph answer that includes feckless minutiae of one's life you really don't care about.

And it is as if she is the only one who has ever heard or knows how to use Google.

I think what she is doing is nice, IF ASKED, but send responses in E-mails.

Brim, I know I have battled with you in the past and you are now a "kinder, gentler" poster. But RETURN to your roots for this please! :D

    Amen to that!

Otherwise, I'm going to be asking for a websites that tell me how to remove gray matter from my walls after my head explodes.

BTW, anyone else think at least 1/2 of the backstory is as real as Santa?

There are quite a few contradictions if you read carefully. I don't have the patience to do so any longer.

It's really detracted from my personal use of these boards to find local information.

I have attempted to handle this situation 'offline' with the user in question today.
