it's not a strip joint- it's a sportsbar that serves steak. sleazy is quite an overstatement... the clientele make a place what it is.

Gave the Steakhouse another try for lunch today (after not going there for a couple of months). I have to say that I had a good experience. Food was very good, great service and the music wasn't too loud. Don't know how the dinner experience is, but lunchtime was great! -pleasantly surprised!

Here's a novel idea...if you don't like it, don't go. What you think is sleazy someone else may not. It is all subjective. I have been there and I see no signs of sleazy anywhere. Just a bunch of sport fans enjoying the game. Just think, if they did not have the Steakhuose to go to they could be next door making all that noise!

Homer needs to get his eyes checked. Next door compared to across the street, where the front isn't even facing the street? Big difference!

The article says that he wants to add thousands of square feet to the existing restaurant. Just what we need, a mega bar in a residential area.

What he wants and what's feasible are two different things... It's nice to see that he's just moved in and is 'alienating' his neighbors in the shopping mall, basically insinuating that he would love for them to leave/go out of business so he can gobble-up their space...

Should also be interesting to see what would happen to the parking situation if he were to ever expand... Ever been in that parking lot on a Saturday night?

This is part of the transition from suburban to urban. Many are not going to like this, as we see. Things are going to change dramaticaly in the next few years.

We don't live in suburbia anymore and nothing will stop this change.

Anyway remember when I said the home prices will fall!!!!! This is going to be a
huge change. A lot of different people are going to be here.

Things are changing at the speed of the universe and nothing will stop that.

If you don't like what you see, ha ha ha wait to all the subway transit centers are built which is in our backyard and will change life dramatically.

Loudoun is changing at the speed of light, like it or not. :)

Personally I love this change!! :)

I like the Vegas style show just as much as the next guy, but they don't have it in residential areas. Shantytown, also not in a residential area. I listen to Don and Mike and Elliot, but I doubt any of those three would want a bar next to their house. It's a slippery slope.

I get what your saying but we can't all afford homes in the areas they live in...it is what it is, and i'm yet to see a Las Vegas style show in this area.

Trust me, I'm all for businesses in our area to be successful. What I am against are businesses/owners who come in here with a total disregard for our established community, treat it like dirt, ignore its pleas, use illegal/dangerous advertising tactics, etc.

The new owner's whole philosophy is volume, volume, volume; Quality goes out the window. Sure, that will make him successful in the short term, but at whom's expense? OURS. As well as his other commercial neighbors.

So what happens if he gobbles up the 1, 2 or 3 stores next to him? The restaurant will grow, as will its capacity. Let's assume a 20% capacity growth. So, we can assume 20% more cars needing to park there. And before anyone says "But the parking is taken into account with the other stores", that's totally wrong. If a 20% expansion brings in 100 more customers, I seriously doubt the stores he would take over have 100 customers present for at least 1 hour on a Saturday night combined.

A few weeks go by, and the parking situation continues. More and more folks decide that eating at any of the other quality local establishments (Bonefish, Cafe Panache, etc) is just too much of a pain because you have to park by the bank or even further. Slowly, they begin heading elsewhere for dinner, and the other great establishments (not only restaurants) in our shopping plaza begin to suffer. I could take this to another level; what happens when folks who don't want to park by the bank, decide to park in the small townhouse area right behind the restaurant? Now those folks have to deal with lack of parking on their own street, and possibly have to deal with calling to get cars towed, etc.

Sure, it sounds like a doomsday scenario, but I'm sure I'm not far off.

To make a long story short, if the new owner showed ANY sense of respect for our community, I might give him the benefit of the doubt, but he's shown on multiple occasions that this is not the case. Does he have the right to run a successful business and expand? Certainly! But I also have a right to dislike his tactics. I have a right to stop frequenting his establishment. I have the right to try to preserve the sense of community I feel living here.

And just to set things straight; I'm not against ANYTHING the owner does inside his place. I'm a big Junkies fan and a loyal listener... My sole gripe is the manager's attitude towards Broadlands and its residents, not with his 'special events'...

So yes, I'm bashing him. I'm sure from past experience, he doesn't give a :censored: about it.

Paradise as you all want it is gone, yet it is still here, just different. I have lived through this many times in Houston, Dallas Austin and sort of in California. Know your environment, that pretty woods maybe gone one day. The mix in the shopping center will change.

The world is always in a flux forever changing. Maybe the problem is there is too much of the same here. Believe me eastern Loudoun is going to be vastly different in the next ten years. The problems of the city will come with it. Yet a lot of good will come with it too. If you don't like what is happening then move.

Vast changes are coming to Loudoun at the speed of something :)

There are many beautiful things here that will stay also.

This is "Lee j speak" not Buividas speak :) I don't think the rest of the Buividas clan wants to be known with me. ha ha ha ha and there is a lot of them :) seems to be mostly lawyers. :)
