Must we have these same two sticky announcements in larger than normal type in all forums? Between the title type size and extra spacing contained in these announcements, there's not much room left on the page to view more than the first few forum thread titles.

    Use a higher resolution :)

They are large because they are important and to draw attention to them. They will expire in time.

I could tell you use 'new posts' where you don't see them at all ;)

Wrong answer since the rest of the forums would display with a much smaller font. Besides, you may think that they're important but I certainly don't. So, does that mean that I can post all my "important" topics in large text?

Fine.. here's an idea.. SCROLL. Unlike other elements on many pages, they don't split the page in frames so they simply scroll of the top of the page. Just scroll down and they are gone.. magic huh?

And like I said.. try using the 'new posts' links. Get modern.. use 'new posts' and tabbed views and you'll never see the forum listings again - or annoucements.

Well you don't help run the site do you? You don't see the back side of the 'operation' that goes on to make sure that the site runs fine for you. So honestly, I don't put a whole lot of weight into your opinion on the topic.

Reality is most users don't realize the significance of things like their email address on the forums. I know this because of the residents I help each week with the forum. Do you know any of this? No, so take the punishment of an announcement for a few weeks.

No, but how about I force a style on just your account that makes everything so big or so small you can't read anything? If you want real issues.. I can make them for you :)

its a jab to put things in perspective :) Its not a big deal when the space can simply be scrolled by or avoided all together (with a better reading format to start with)

no hard feelings I hope. Just some things I need to put neon lights on for people to see.

Know those emails from the forum that start off saying DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ? you'd be amazed at how many I get each week :)
