Yes I fully agree. Whenever I try a Thai place for the first time, I get Beef Panang. A good Beef Panang is by far my favorite dish but it seems rare that I find one that really does it for me. Until now, I'd have to go to Tysons to get Panang that I really enjoyed.

We ordered pad thai last night and had it delivered. It arrived fast, was still very hot (too hot to eat!), and was delicious. Fantastic service too!

I will add my enthusiastic thumbs up for Anothai!! I had Pad Thai takeout last night (excellent). Tonight, we went there for dinner. Daughter had Pad Thai (no complaints), I had Pork in the Garg(d)en (good, but a bit on the salty side for me), and wife had Pad Khing (this was fantastic - a very nice ginger broth - I couldn't get enough of this one). We started with the Anothai Platter, a nice appetizer assortment. Try the Tod Mun - the description didn't sound so good (ground white fish kneaded with red curry paste....), but I really liked the subtle flavor.

Service was very good - attentive, but not overbearing, very nice. We will definitely be back - I'm very happy to have such a great Thai restaurant in the neighborhood!!!

LMAO - we Loved it, great food (authentic) at a reasonable price - maybe next time I'll order the panang.

I went tonight and when I pulled in the parking lot just about flipped out! The parking lot was packed... which I quickly figured out was because Glory Days is open.

Anyway, my dinner was yummy at Anothai, and I really like the ambiance. the service was gracious, helpful, all-around wonderful. Great spot, even for folks like me who are a little afraid of Thai food thinking it's all wicked spicy. But there are plenty of things on the menu to satisfy palates like mine. I can't wait to try something else!!

FWIW, the one item I've had from there was marked spicy on the menu but it was far from it. I had to ask for the hot sauce tray to kick it up.

I think I might be the one voice of dissention on the Anothai love fest. We had takeout a few weeks ago and it was quite mediocre. I really wanted to like this place because it's crawling distance from our house and the reviews on this board have been great. It just wasn't anything special. I ordered Pad Thai chicken, my standard in comparing Thai joints. It was fine, but not very flavorful. My friend had Pad Thai shrimp and described it as 'very fishy.'...though I'm not sure what she expected ordering shrimp. All in all, it was fine, but not worthy of all the praise I'm seeing here.

I think I owe these guys another try. I've heard the dine-in ambiance is great and the owner seemed really nice. Maybe we can try some more interesting dishes this time.

The owners were nice, and my "Basil Chicken" (takeout) was pretty yummy. It was pretty spicy for not being ordered extra spicy, but I like it that way. They now have a website www.anothairestaurant.com

    Dear SchwarzFamily,

I'm sorry to hear that our Pad Thai couldn't impress you. I hope you give us another try as we do have more to offer.

    Sincerely,
    Lalida

We tried anothai last week and we were very pleased. We had the take out. Food was yummy and it made us go back again the next day. We will definitely go again.

BTW, their service was very good too.

We tried Anothai on Saturday and were quite pleased. The food was very good. The interior is comfortable and has a nice modern feel. The service was great. We will go back.
