    Hello ,
we live in boradlands and looking for Adult beginners swimming lessons in/around the area. The Idalee is having a wait list for all the advertised adult swimming lessons. Sports pavilion says NO to Adults...private swimming lessons asks for too much $$$...
    Any leads on this,folks ?

    Thanks[?]

I checked that already. they cost $250 for 8 lessons. Herndon community center looks better but no instructor available on saturdays for private lessons.

this is a link for 20171 . I work there so that is where I first looked but turned out very expensive. I found clubswim.com where elite pools staff will come and teach in brambelton. After paying money online , they don't send any confirmation it seems .. I am a little uncomfortable with that.

Actually it will be good if someone in broad lands can teach private lessons in our pools.

Let me see if NV has anyone who is qualified and interested in teaching adult lessons. They have an exclusivity on lessons but if they do not have the staff and or the qualifications it is possible for someone else to teach at our pools. (Since most of the time the lessons are for kids they normally have someone who can do it, but a couple of years ago they did not have enough staff to do all the privates that were requested so I was able to help out and teach some)

I have taught adult lessons before so if NV can not accomodate you I may be able to work something out. Just send me a PM or email with your contact info and I will get back in touch with you with what I find out.

Overlander are you a Brambleton resident? The lessons that Letswim provides are only open to residents as is use of the pool. I had to email them about an issue with an incorrect time for a class listed and they responded very quickly. I believe there's a link on their site to contact them.

Sorry. I misconstrued your post. I wish you luck in finding a class. Does Claude Moore offer adult classes?

    Maeve and others--

Yes, Claude Moore Rec Center DOES offer adult swimming classes beginning to advanced levels. The May Schedule is FILLED currently; but they still have space for ADULTS for June 2007. Call the Claude Moore Rec Center or check out online at Loudoun Parks web site. If you go to the Claude Moore Rec Center threads--you can find the info that I previously posted.

Our kids are swimming at Claude Moore Rec Center and taking lessons. Great place to go!

Also, you and others if you work near Reston areas--can also check out the RESTON COMMUNITY CENTER. Their web site and schedule is online.

    www.restoncommunitycenter.com (Reston's Community Center site.)

Also, check out Fairfax County's Parks web site--their Summer schedule for camps, etc. is now out and online. Reston's YMCA is also good as someone previously mentioned. You might also check out other HOA(s) in Eastern Loudoun County (i.e. Countryside HOA, Sugarland HOA, Cascades HOA, and others to see if they offer ADULT swimming lessons.)

    Good luck--

    Foodie

Thanks Foodie . I always look at claudmore web trac but never found a single class for adults. The only one I see is at FPP .The last timeI checked was mid last week.
Also for kids they have very few week end classes.
Thanks for the reston community center link. I knew of herndon but not reston.

    Hi Joy

I check webtrac everyday. I see only the FPP class for adults. There is nothing in Claude Moore rec center. If you see any in Claude Moore, can you please give me the class number ?
    Thanks

I wouldn't expect it to be in Webtrac yet, since registration begins June 1 at 9am. Here's the exact info for Claude Moore from the catalog I linked to:

    ADULT BEGINNING SWIM
(Ages 14 & up) Class will focus on fundamental skills. Emphasis placed on locomotion using the crawl, stroke, floating in deep water, and personal water safety skills.
