Correct - this was recently implemented. If you need to correct something, you can post a follow-up post or if you need something removed for some reason, please use the report post link and you can explain why/etc

    Steve,

Not sure why, technically, this change was made, but from a user perspective, I do post, then read it, and many times find typos and grammatical stuff I want to fix. Is there a technical reason why this was changed?

    Everything else look great.

As a reader I do appreciate when users try to fix their typos, however, why not use the preview post feature and proof your post before submitting?

Because that's the way I use the system. I point it out to Admin to consider. It saves steps. If no error than I just leave it, otherwise I hit edit and change it. I find it easier. Others may not.

same here.... but likely they changed it because the system might not save what was there previously, thus bringing up an issue if you wanted to find out what someone said... *shrug*

You can still edit your post up to 10mins after submitting it. So you can proof it before or after hitting submit if you like :)

The change brings us inline with the rules we've had for a long time.

I understand it takes away some flexibility - but that is a good thing at times. It helps enforce the idea that people should consider what they say.. before they say it - because it will stick around. You can't be revisionist face to face, and we'd like to keep that same consistency here.

with that explanantion- i like it! maybe it will make some historically emotional, knee jerk, abrasive posters think twice since they can no longer rewrite history...

    thanks!!!
