    Steve-
One difference is T8, Cliff and myself - we volunteer our time. Granted it may not be as much time as you and the other admins bring to the table, but NONE of us receive any type of compensation for our time (and that includes you as well)

I am assuming that "erica" is me .

I would grealty appreciate first if you spelt my name correctly and secondly keeping me out of your argument - unless you have the power to "ban" me from activities too:happygrin:.

Donna on the other had is paid handsomely for her "director of Community out reach" position at Inova Loudoun.

It seems like some folks are making her out to be martyr...however she has thrown her fair share of zingers out there too.

Also I assume the letter she sent out in 2004 w/ the Broadlands HOA logo (and yes I still have a copy of it) was just a mistake that it looked like it came from the HOA?

    Thanks! (I think :D)

Yes, I can be very sloppy at times when typing here. I can typically get my point across verbally much better than behind a keyboard.
And unlike Steve, I guess I do not take this forum (exception being the HH's) too seriously nor do I try to read ill will or malicious intent in every post. It IS a form of entertainment and socializing for me and as such, a good portion of my posts should not be taken seriously.

You are crazy! His point was that there is no problem with you holding your position.

Also, I know you are not supposed to correct people's typos (lord knows I have my share) but I find it ironic that you use "spelt" in a sentence criticizing someone for misspellings, especially when their error is not using the less common Scandinavian or Northern European spelling of your name. I'm sure it happens all the time.

LOL! I was talking about hexapodil wheat (j/c)..and for the record the true way to spell my name is with a 'K' (its actually German) = which translates to heather.

Donna had run for a Board seat long before the hospital issue ever materialized. In fact, she had called me to discuss the duties, time involved, etc. of being on the Board before she decided to run.

Since the hospital debacle started, she has stated that she wanted to be a voice of dissent for BRMC and she has made that clear at the meetings when she ran.

vacliff, between your post and the earlier one by flynnibus, I think you summed it up nicely. I would only add that I imagine that quite a few residents specifically voted for Donna because she does not think we need another hospital so close to the one we have. Equally, I imagine that there are residents who support you because you want to have another hospital built in the immediate area.

So, I don't get the whining about the members of the HOA having opinions and making those opinions known. It sounds like whining for the sake of whining.:boring:

    * Humor Alert: Now that I have agreed with vacliff and flynnibus both in a single post, I think I need to call myself Darth Gryphon from now on.;)
** Reminder: I am neutral on the issue of a hospital in the Broadlands, and this post should not be viewed as either support or disapproval of said hospital.

Replying to the 2004 letter reference - man that was ages ago. :)

I only lurk in the hospital threads, used to be against the hospital but now honestly don't care one way or another if it gets built.

Since bringing up 2004 history, it did made me think back then to a external anti brmc hospital site that came up with some photos of syringes and junk laying on the ground. Was hilarious how far someone would go. That site still exist?

yup it was, but it still renoates... we had just moved in and thought it came from the HOA office. Which is why I called and saved the letter.

To the best of my knowledge the site you made reference to has been de-commissioned.

I for one still reject the idea of the Broadlands hospital, no matter what the argument is...I just don't buy it.

Nope, but I have seen plenty of ads from both sides. How stupid do the hospital admins think we are?:nono:

HCA presents an image that we are on Gilligan's Island with the nearest hospitals inaccessible from the Broadlands.

Innova tries to convince you that they are filled with love for our children, and any other hospital would be here just for the $$.

    Give me a break!
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    From the HCA website:
It's clear from the statistics that Loudoun desperately needs a second hospital. That's really not open to question. But why should Broadlands be built in Ashburn? There are many excellent reasons.
First, like all critical services and infrastructure, hospitals are best sited where their services are most needed. Broadlands Regional Medical Center is sited in one of the fastest growing areas of Loudoun County. Exactly the area that thousands of new residents are currently leaving to seek hospitalization outside the county.
I thought that it was funny that there is no #2, if there are many excellent reasons. Also, by the time they get that bad-boy up, this area will no longer be growing, it will be built out.

    Note: I can't resist the hospital thread!:devil2:

Can't we just go to Reston for a non-Inova hospital?
