    Cliff -
I will give them a call today. We have a window that is broken (cracked) we also discovered VM left a section of our roof open to the elements (over our garage by the gutters) nice.

    Cliff,
He came out and was really nice! Gave us some ideas on how to help us save some money and called us yesterday to fix one of our issues because he happened to be out in our area. We opted to wait till he could do both issues. Quoted us a very fair price to fix the disaster of a roof opening that VM left us with.

I will update once he does the work but so far, very nice guy, seemed very fair and reasonable.

Based on Cliff's recommendation (thanks, Cliff) we had Kirk from Apex Roofing come out this weekend to fix a siding issue we had. He was nice, polite, and fixed the problem, so we were happy with him. As long as the work he did holds up we're 100% satisfied. It was a small job and the service was fast and good. Thumbs up.

Kirk said he gets at least one call a week from people on this board!

I liked Kirk too but we are still waiting for him to make the repair. He lost his office help and with the ice storm ours slid on priority but I would like to see it get done.

We are very picky with contractors and the way they conduct business as well as the work that is performed. We do not mind paying a little bit more for the customer service. I think James Home Improvement exemplifies that.

We called James Home Improvement yesterday, as we had water come in due to the feirce rains Sunday and Monday. He came out today at 2pm, at the time he said he would, inspected the roof and said he needed to go buy some parts. He returned a half hour later. He replaced the gasket where we had the leak, replaced another gasket and fixed the roof vents and put new caps on the vents, nailed down around the attic fan where the builder had not 10 years ago and did an overall fix up to the roof. He and his son were very polite and it cost us $300, which I think is very reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone!

Cliff, I just tried calling them to get an estimate on our roof. I was directed to the voicemail box and when it came time to leave a message, it said it was full...

FYI - we have used Dry Home Roofing/Siding for roof and other minor repairs. We have never had a problem with them before, but they are giving me some serious runaround with scheduling. I hope the Apex guys can do the job...

For future reference---i recently had a problem with a leak in the roof--and Dry Home roofing came by and told me that there wasn't a problem with my roof--the water coming through my ceiling was "condensation" caused by the dryer vent being too long. This is after the guy scaled my house and walked around on the roof. I had someone else come by and standing behind my house from the ground 40 feet below...he could see where the issue was around the vent poking through the roof. Funny thing...since they came by--no more water. so much for "condensation". i would never recommend Dry Home roofing after that.

I would recommmend these guys in a heartbeat---Roofing and More--formally Townhouse Roofing.

The rain this year caused havoc in my 12 year old home. Area roofers
were slammed but Dry Home Roofers made themselves available,
did not try to sell me a new roof but made necessary repairs at a reasonable price. Their workers arrived as scheduled, did not disturb my new landscape plantings and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Jack of Dry Home Roofers.

Add me to the list of extremely satisfied customers of Kirk at Apex Roofing. Last Saturday's storm ended up doing some damage to our roof - ridge vents blown off and roof leaking. I called Kirk on Sunday morning, he promised to come out that afternoon. Showed up late afternoon as promised, gave me an estimate, agreed to come out on Monday to fix the job. Kirk and his crew showed up as promised on Monday morning, fixed the roof, and charged me exactly the quote he had provided. I would recommend Kirk in a second - any roof problems I have in the future - Kirk will be the first place I call.

Kirk was supposed to show up that same Monday to my house to look at a repair job he did previously that leaked again. He never called and never showed.

And I have been unable to get a call or e-mail back since. And his voice mail box is full, so I cannot even leave a message anymore.

Has anyone else have any luck reaching him?

As I put in another thread, I thought him a conscientious person the first time I dealt with him, so I would like to give him the benefit of doubt, but these two weeks of no communication have shaken my confidence in him. At some point, I might have to take it up with the Better Business Bureau if he won't call or e-mail me back.

Thank you for contacting Kirk for me!

He called yesterday and showed up this morning. He took a look at the problem and did some work. He will water test it tomorrow when he returns. He also offered to pay for repairs of additional interior damage.

Hopefully he will be able to waterproof the leaky bay window/roof and an additional leaky window better this time, and if he is able to do so, I will be happy despite the two weeks of no communication (during which time I understand he had an unfortunate string of events including a car accident).

All I can tell you is that when my neighbor complained about the sealing that "Bear's" company did, his crew was there the NEXT DAY to reseal it! Not only that, but he put down two coats on the pipestem, because he (Bear) wasn't pleased with the results (even though we were).

And that, to me, sounds like good customer service. My point is that if, on the off chance, i were to disagree with something---i run the risk of getting treated like what i read in his message to Cliff---and i, as a paying customer, don't need to put up with that. Maybe it's just personal beef between the two---but seeing that outburst is enough to keep me, a potential customer one day, from calling---that's the point i was making.

I don't have roof problems or an asphalt driveway, so it's a non-issue right now. :)

Kirk came back as promised yesterday morning and water tested the leaky areas. So far so good. I was hoping that the rain today would be much worse so as to "nature-test" the affected areas.

Thank you again, VACLIFF, for contacting Kirk for me.
