I have searched the thread history for sprinkler system recommendations but am looking for something more recent. (I couldn't even find contact info. for some of the companies mentioned.) I know with the economy the way it is, this may sound crazy, but does anyone out there have any current recommendations? We thought the cost might have come down a bit...

Not sure how "current" our system is, but Interstate did ours in November 2007. My husband seems very happy with ours. They used RainBird and so we can go to Lowes if/when something minor needs replacing. Once the spring flowers came up, we needed a taller head and they came out to install the new one at no cost. They also moved some lines/heads around last fall when we had a lot of puddling b/c our neighbors were watering too; it was still in our design warranty period. www.interstate-sprinklerlight.com

I have limited experience with them but I am very impressed with them so far but I would check out www.hydro-techirrigation.com

They have had good customer service, and I like the do-it-yourself simple maintenance videos they link to on their site... very helpful. I am using them for annual service right now but I think a 7-9 zone system should run you around $3500. And make sure to check your plat for property lines and easements.

We just solicited a number of potential irrigation companies and went with Alex’s Irrigation Systems. He had the best design and was the least expensive. The work was nothing short of fantastic. Please feel free to PM me if you would like to see for yourself.

I would also recommend you call Ronco Irrigation and speak to Rob. He lives in the Broadlands and provided some excellent expertise.

    Good luck,
    Brent

We used Dominion Sprinkler which merged into KT Irrigation. They were highly recommended by one of the company's owner's neighbors. It sounded like most people on his street were very happy. And, we have had no issues with ours since it was installed over 2 years ago. I just saw that there were listed on the preferred list too for Loudoun Water. KT Irrigation: 703-327-2332

Our system was installed about 30 months ago. I agree that RainBird is a GREAT sprinkler head, we have 4 zones of drip lines & 3 zones of the Rain Bird product.

Some advice - if you can afford it, I would buy the integrated ferlizer tank for your system & I definately recommend the Hunter model for your Control Panel (i love the remote control feature).

Shyam - we use Affordable Lawn & Sprinkler (they installed our system several years ago) and we have them do the bi-annual maintenance on our system.

Ryan & Reid are the owners and they are great, here is their website:

I'm a landscape design/build contractor and have been on projects with both Hydro-tech and Affordable, I recommend both companies. Check into tax credits you can receive too.
