Has anyone gone to the new Italian restaurant near the safeway yet? We can only hope and pray it is run a little better than Broadlands pizzaria. [:p]

Come on, I know some of you closet restaurant critics are dying to give it your thumbs up or thumbs down!!

Stopped by after work and got take out. It was really good, a litte oily but other than that - toddler asked for seconds of the kids pasta so that says alot! So glad they are open!

We ate there last night. Owner and chef were out front greeting people as we came in, then asking for feedback as we left. Pizza was fantastic, my wife thought the linguine w/ clam sauce was a bit salty (she has a low tolerance for salt). Atmosphere and service were great. We will return often.

went last night too. ordered linguini and clams (also found it to have too much sauce but otherwise outstanding), hubby had ravioli.
atmosphere is great. love the music, the murals, the staff and the food most importantly. will go once a week :)

Went today for lunch. Owners were very nice and visited the table to make sure all was well. I had a Philly Cheesesteak (yeah, yeah...) which was excellent and came with pasta and a small salad for only $7.25...a great value compared to other places. The waitress we had was new and still learning the ropes, and service was a bit slow, but good.

I would give it 8 or 9/10 for a lunch place.

I noticed on the take out menus that they have a VIP card... anyone know what that is? I presume some sort of frequent-visitor card....

We usually wait for our yearly trek to New York's Mulberry Street to savor really good Italian food. But I think we've just done died and gone to heaven. Hubbie (Sicilian genes abounding) was a little suspicious at first that a spoon wasn't included in the napkin-wrapped utensils ("This ain't true Eye-talian!," he mumbled.) But lo and behold, a big, fat spoon came included in his spaghetti entree as it hit the table, and his eyes lit up...there may be hope yet, he thought. I had a fabulous entree of (sorry, can't pronounce it - farfella d'Italiana (?)- bowtie pasta with roma tomatoes with slightly sauteed arugula and raddichio - crunchy and warm - with feathers of parmesan cheese (not dusty, grated Kraft from the can) all drizzled in a light wine sauce. (Most other entrees have tomatoe-based sauces - this was the exception.) I agree - and mentioned to the chef who came out so courteously to ask how our meal was - that there was indeed a tad much sodium in both dishes. But the pasta was delightfully al dente, and they were more than accommodating when my husband requested fettucini noodles replace his regular spaghetti noodles.

The waitresses are new and a little nervous, but a good group of hard-working, conscientious do-bees. The food was a little bit slow coming out, but a good glass of chianti and a basket full of warm bread with some pesto-drenched extra virgin olive oil eased the pain....very dangerous[:p]

    Go.....sit.....stay

We went last night and the pizza was excellent. We didn't get much cause our daughter ate about half of it. She liked the spaghetti too. Our daughter ordered a dessert, do not know what it was called, but it seemed to be fresh whipped cream with fresh raspberries in it. It was awesome.

I've dined at their Herndon location for lunch many times over the past few months. They always have had excellent food and good service. I'm very pleased to see they've finally opened their doors in our community.

Will go there for the first time this week. My daughter started working there last night, of course very nervous, she has never worked in a restaurant before. But she says she thinks she will really like it.

I have been waiting for this restaurant to open for a while. I noticed tonight (wednesday) that it was open and stopped in for dinner.

I had a simple pizza that was very good, all the employees were polite, and the manager seemed to be visiting every table (mine included).

The only thing that bothered me was that I didn't say hello to the two ladies (apparantly single - no rings) sitting two tables away from me with their daughters (?). The one with the blue top on had a beautiful smile as she left. If you happened to be one of the two ladies, please e-mail me. I was the man with the motorcycle helmet.

I also apologize to anyone who thinks this may be inappropriate, but I couldn't stop thinking about the smile the one lady had.

I have been a loyal fan of San Vito since the opening of the first restaurant in Herndon more than a year ago. Needless to say, I was very excited to learn that they were coming to Ashburn!! I have eaten there twice since Monday, and as expected, the food was FABULOUS! I love Gian Piero's creations. If you want a real treat keep your eye open for the Monthly Wine Dinners that he has. It's an unbelievable dinner event with the opportunity to taste several different wines. Tons of fun!

peeked in tonight.. place was PACKED.

Seems like the guy down in the Green Monster is going to have serious issues. Crappy service, mediocre food right from the get-go.. and a (by the reviews here) top notch competitor just 3 minutes away. He may not have much of a chance to clean up his act

Went there on Friday night. Called at 6:15, got on the waiting list, arrived at 7 and was seated right away. Nice atmosphere, especially for a strip mall restaurant. THere was a long line for carryouts as was to be expected the first weekend after opening. Understandably the service was a bit slow with it being so crowded and their just opening, but the owner stopped by a number of times to talk to us and see how things were. The food was very good as were the desserts. Wide variety of things on their menu. My daughter ordered the kid's pizza which was enormous and she loved every bite (along with our help). Definitely nice to have a good restaurant for the family so close to home.

    FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC!

MY HUSBAND JUST CAME BACK FROM ITALY HE TRAVELS A LOT FOR THE STATE DEPARTMENT. HE EATS AT FIRST CLASS RESTAURANTS ALL OVER THE WORLD. HE WAS A BIT RELUCTANT AT FIRST, BUT ONCE HE TASTED THE FOOD WAS DELIGHTED TO FIND THIS GEM IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. SIX OF US WENT TO DINNER LAST NIGHT AT THE NEW RESTAURANT. WE HAD THE LASAGNA,PIZZA,SALMON, SAL'S PASTA (IT'S THE OWNER'S FAVORITE.(MINE TOO) YOU WON'T FIND IT ON THE MENU JUST ASK FOR IT!) AND THE MISTO DI PESCE. A BOTTLE OF GREAT CHIANTI, AND FOR DESERT THE ITALIAN CANNOLI AND THE TIRAMISU.
THE SERVICE WAS A LITTLE SLOW UNDERSTANDALBY, BUT WELL WORTH IT. BROADLANDS THIS PLACE IS A WINNER!
