party tomorrow? They are expecting over a foot of snow that continues through Saturday night.

I'd put my bet on 'clear roads' and a Parks and Recs lot of being clear tomorrow to be about the same odds as winning Powerball :)

I know :-( .But this was reserved and planned long back. I was concerned about that parking lot only because , until now ( touch wood) , from the last 7yrs that lived in broadlands, anytime after snow , the area that go about is always in driving condition.
I am already preparing myself to cancel the event, but trying to findout from people if anyone has any info.

If we get anywhere near the amount of snow they are forecasting this area will be gridlocked. In 1995, we got around 16 inches and the whole DC Metro area was closed for 10 days. If it stays cold we could have the same situation here.

Problem is that we don't have enough big trucks to plow deep snow. Most of the contractors have pickup trucks with small blades which are good for 5 to 6 inches of snow.

I believe that the Ashburn Village HOA plows (or contracts to plow) the community center parking lots when they can. No guarantee that it will be done in time for your party since the snow is supposed to continue to fall all day tomorrow but the I think the HOA will plow it eventually. I happen to have a contract with them for an event in January and the contract states

"Rental fees will not be refunded if an event is canceled by the homeowner 15 days or less prior to the day of the reservation except in extraordinary circumstances (weather event which in the sole opinion of the AVCA prevents safe use of the facility), mechanical failure at the facility, sudden serious illness or death of the homeowner..."

I don't know what that means in the case of our snow situation but you may be able to cancel without penalty if the HOA is not able to have the parking lot plowed in time for your event.
