So I have an appointment at Georgetown Hospital on a Friday in June. I never drive into the city during the week.

So for those of you who do, what time would I need to leave Ashburn if I had to be in Georgetown no later than 9:15? What's the best way to get there?

    Thanks for the tips.

Will you have another occupant in the car, so you can take HOV2 (via 66 East)?

Georgetown - is one of our main speciality providers.

Here is the route I take:
Greenway/Toll Road, Exit Route 123 towards McLean (Chain Bridge), Stay on Rt 123 for about 6 miles (you will pass McLean, GW Parkway, Spout Run) and cross over a small 2 lane bridge into DC via Canal Rd. Take your next available Left onto a residential street (I think it's Fox Hall or Arizona Dr), left onto Prospect, Left onto McAurther.

Friday's tend to be lighter traffic days, I would estimate leaving around 7:45AM for a 9AM appointment. Hope the directions help.

I take the same route as lilpea for any morning appts at Geoergetown hospital. The turn she was not sure of the name is onto Arizon though. I usually leave myself an hour and half to get there during rush hour. Rather stop and get a snack or another cup of coffee instead of being late.

Thanks for the replies! I will be the only occupant of my vehicle (so no HOV lanes).

The info you both provided will help me a lot!

there's actually a quicker way when driving in to GUH in the morning. you can also continue continue past arizona on canal, go about 1/2 mile and then bear left (up a little hill) at fletchers boat house. this is reservoir rd. but it's not marked well. if you follow that straight you'll run right into macarthur (you'll end up almost at the lab school), and then continue straight to stay on reservoir.

note that canal is all one way into the city during rush hour once you pass the light at arizona. so if you're heading back out before 10 (or 10:15) you'll need to come back via arizona.

This is what I took last year.... Only thing is lights are little confusing for people new to the area... i think there are 2 lanes going into the city and 1 lane coming out... and it changes in the evening.

To take reservoir rd, you neet to go straight from the light, not left. Once you go straight, after 1/2 - 1 mile, you will see a left exit (going slightly up) to reservoir rd.
