Just saw a sign in Leesburg for a Jimmy John's Gourmet sandwich shop opening soon off Market Street in the vicinity of Vintage 50.

Now THAT is exciting news. I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying a sandwich from there, but have heard nothing but raves!

There is also a Jersey Mikes in Leesburg. Is Jimmy Johns anything like Jersey Mikes? Which one is better?

    Gargantuan and a pickle please.

I spent the 80s not too far from Charleston, IL and the first Jimmy Johns. I've been waiting a long time for this day. Coincidentally, my wife saw the sign up today and called me all excited followed by another call 5 minutes later telling me they weren't opened yet. Soul crushing.

I tried Jersey Mike's for the first time recently and thought it was pretty good. I really like how they carve the meat right when you order a sandwich. I haven't had Jimmy Johns in about 8 years. I can't remember the quality. I'll have to give it a try again when it opens.

Why no sandwich shops in Ashburn? Come on! (I miss Puccio's)

It's not QUITE Ashburn, but there's a Jersey Mike's on Route 7 in Sterling that's reasonably close and pretty good.

I'm excited to not have to drive to MD to get my Jimmy John's fix though!

There's also a Jersey Mike's in Leesburg in the shopping center on Fort Evans Rd. where Cici's, Marshalls, JoAnn Fabrics, and Bed Bath and Beyond are.
