    Hello Everyone,
My name is Bo Chao, and I'm the General Manager here at Broadlands Pub and Grill. I'm a Loudoun County native, and I've seen this area grow, from dirt roads to 4 lane highways, from swampy lands to beautiful communities. We're all apart of something great.

I'm trying a few things out, like Live Music, Singles Night, Karaoke, and Ladies Night. If you havent been in, and are looking for a reason to try us out, I'm inviting everyone to come by and have lunch or dinner with our new re-vamped menu.

We have a great coupon in the Clipper Magazine, which is Buy one get one Free food, or come in by yourself and get half off of your food item.

I'd love to here your feedback, positive or negative, and any sugestions you may have.

Please feel free to give me a call here 571.223.0830 or send me an email to Bo@broadlandspub.com</u>.

We would like to be a part of the community, by sponsoring some local teams, and being a more family oriented atmoshpere.

If it's been awhile since you have stopped in, we have expanded the resturant some, to accomodate larger parties, and installed a few big smoke filtration systems to eliminate that smoky resturant feel.

These were all suggestions given to us, by residents like you.

Please remember that we always trying to make things better for everyone. We promise to give you the personal attention you desire when you visit us, and look forward to creating a long and lasting relationship with you here in the broadlands.

    Sincerely,

    Bo Chao

    Bo,

Great to see you posting here! I think the activities you have incorporated and added are excellent! One suggestion I'd like to offer up for consideration is how about getting some billards tables???

    Hey,
I think billiards tables are a great idea. I'll have to look into seeing whether or not we have enough room for them.

Right now I know we are slightly limited on space, becuase of all the new tables and chairs, But I'll do some research to see what is required for billiards tables.

    Thanks for the great idea,
    Bo

Great -- look forward to hearing what evolves. Additionally, have you thought about darts and getting together some neighborhood dart teams?

I'm interested in learning more about the live music - when and who will be playing there? Thanks!

I'll have a more complete list Here Shortly, I've been caught in a whirlwind, with our expansion, all of our new entertainment, and hiring more staff to help us keep up.

Right now we've decided to have live music on tuesdays, thursdays, and friday; karaoke on wednesdays, and a DJ on saturdays night for our "Ladies Night"

We do have some incredible specials and deals all week long, to go with all of these promotions.

You'll have to try our baby back ribs, they're my recipe, and I hope you'll love'em. We actually sold out of them a few times already.

Hope to see you in soon,
    Bo

At what point does this become free advertising in our forums? If this establishment can advertise their ribs and nightly entertainment, then the other local establishments can do the same for their places of business.

If the community wants this type of infomercial, then how about a separate forum for them, because I don't see how this is a Community Issue!

my personal opinion.. its in its own thread.. its not jumping into other threads.. and it is a local establishment (its INSIDE our community). If someone isn't interested.. they can skip the thread.

    Just my opinon..

I agree with Steve. Its within our community and would like to be
a part of our community and also they are local people. In my
opinion, we should always encourage them. Ofcourse its my personal
    opinion....

I agree. Local businesses seeking feedback from the community
should be encouraged. This forum seems appropriate for that purpose.
If they want to post info about events at their establishment they
should be able to do so in Community Announcements & Events
    section.

I think that pool tables would be a great idea.

I do agree that posting happenings is not an advertisement and is nice information for the community to know. But, there is a fine line between that and rule #4 in the Forum Rules and Information (see below). However, I don't agree that the Broadlands Pub & Grill Happenings are a "Broadlands-specific topics of concern," the focus of this Broadlands Community Issues main topic -- how is it a concern?

    4. No posting of advertisements of commercial services by any company unless directly approved by the Technology Committee.
If you want to advertise your company, please see our website and contact us for ad space. We will not tolerate commercial spam on these message boards and violation of this will result in both the message and account name being deleted without warning. Please note that it is fine for residents to speak out about a company - this we encourage.

Just don't read the post if it bothers you. This post is doing nothing harmful and I don't see it as an advertisement. The owner has been asking for feedback and I see nothing wrong with that. It does nothing but help our community to have the local businesses asking how they can improve themselves. I welcome that and think more of the local businesses should do this. Maybe a specific board area for local businesses to seek feedback is not a bad idea.

Now on to my comments :)

My wife and I were at the pub last night for "ladies night". It was a ton of fun with people dancing and the DJ was good. Lots of 80's music in the early evening and more of the dance music later. It was a lot of fun.

I also really like the additions they have made to the menu. The fried chicken sandwitch was really good and they finally have chicken fingers for the kids :)

The new smoke filtration system really helps a lot. It was not bad at all last night and we had to sit in the smoking section because of a private party.

Great job :) Can't wait to check out some live music there. Pool tables would be cool and also darts. I agree with the others on that :)

    I am so glad that Bo is posting here or otherwise I would not have known of the expansion and new activities they've incorporated. I went to the pub last night and had a great time. It was a pleasure to meet Bo and speak with him personally on goals and objectives for the pub. The new focus of the pub definitely fills a gap in the community. I guess I'll try to go again on Wednesday and check out how our neighborhood does in kareoke! &lt;g&gt;

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for making the music a success. We've had great turn outs for the live bands on fridays, and ladies night on saturdays.

I'm always seaching for talent, so if there is band you know of, and would like to see here, let me know and I'll try to book them. Seems like every band recommended to me has had a great turn out.

Thanks alot guys for making our expansion a success, the pool tables right now are out of reach becuase the need alot of space for them to be comfortable to play on. But we now have a Pool Arcade Game next to the Golden Tee Machine. It's actually pretty cool, I put a couple bucks in it and actually learned alot about english and aim. Might be worth a shot for you.

Anyway, Thank you every one for you support,
    See you soon,
    Bo
