Ha! Reminds me of that bath fitter company. Do you have a nasty moldy bathroom? No problem, we will just cover it up with a bath fitter. Now your mold will grow out of sight behind your bath fitter. Now you never have to see your mold again. It will just make you sick and grow underneath your brand new bath fitter!

I'd certainly want to see a finished deck helmet in person before experimenting with this stuff.

This week's Clipper Magazine mailer has a coupon for $275 off any deck helmet package.

On the same subject, anyone tried this Deck Restore stuff from Home Depot?

I got my deck power-washed/stained last year by Roberto (703) 786-4166.

He did a decent job. Also, speaks English well.

Yes, we were the ones that got talked into using that stuff! :censored: Restore - it seems like such a great idea, and now that it's finally done, it looks pretty good. BUT, and this is a huge BUT, it was a pain in our you-know-whats!! At first, Hubby rolled it on like they suggest but it didn't look right. Gloppy here, thin there. So he put on another coat, then another, then another. At the end, we had to use a saw between the boards to recreate the cracks (so water is able to run off).
Our deck is pretty small and we were told by the cust service dept that we would need 20 gallons. We used about 15 which is not cheap!
We would use it again? Without a doubt, no. So many hours, so much headache. We are so ready for trex!
