Does anyone have 'current' recommendations for driveway patching and sealing - the good, the bad, and the ugly?

Our whole cul-de-sac just had Collegiate Sealers come out to seal our driveways. They'll extend a 10% discount off the price of $57 to anyone else on the street for the same day. Their number is 703-542-5555.

+1 for Collegiate; minus 1 for Academy
Have had the driveway done about 3 times - first two by Collegiate - great work and looks perfect. Third time - last year - decided to try Academy - looked terrible - cracks not filled,etc.. Would not use again

It costs only $57 to seal a driveway? Is this for a single family driveway size or Townhome?

I want to do this too.

It's a cheap job. Where costs may escalate is if you need repairs. Each company should be able to provide you up front with their policy on fixing cracks, stains, etc. Basically it boils down to things that the liquid will fill on its own, cracks over a certain width they can fill, and things they can't fill or cover. It's best to understand the limitations and your driveway conditions ahead to avoid false expectations

    Thanks.

Does this job include power washing the driveway before they apply sealant?

I don't recall but I don't think so. I believe the standard practice is to remove dirt and debris (sweep/blow) - not power wash.

+1 for Collegiate. Never had a bad experience. Had a bad one with Academy. Also, Collegiate is cheaper (at least for my driveway).
