Calling all volunteers to come out for the Events/Broadlands Live Committee Meeting at the Broadlands Community Center at 7:30pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Are you interested in helping organize the Broadlands community events? Do you have an idea for a new event you'd like to see us host? Wanting to revamp any of the current events? Perhaps you are interested in music or fundraising. The committee welcomes all to attend and looks forward to hearing our residents great ideas and recommendations. We also need lots of help to produce our great neighborhood events. Light refreshments will be served.

The Events Committee would love to have the Halloween Parade again, provided there are sufficient volunteers to help organize it.

HOPE TO SEE SOME NEW FACES THERE TONIGHT! Lots of people ask me about whether this or that event is happening, but we have a SHRINKING group of core volunteers to pull them off- and without new blood SOME EVENTS WILL GO AWAY. It's a small amount of time to give and it's SO much fun to help plan these events. The event committee is a well run machine that only needs bodies to make it better- PHENOMENAL Event Committee chairwoman who is EXTREMELY organized, connected and effective! Lots of processes are already in place- we just need bodies, ideas and sometimes muscles to pull it off.

I am chairwoman of the Broadlands Live! Committee and we need a handful of volunteers to make our 11th season even BETTER. Another well run organized committee (no thanks to ME- I stepped INTO a great group!) that is FUN FUN FUN to be a part of!!

consider volunteering for just ONE event. BE a little self serving and make it an event YOU or your OWN kid would attend- that's what I do... I've been on committees over the past 7 years and I truly love the people I volunteer with and the excellent events we pull together with HOA support. I have a full time job and work over 50 hours a week, I have a kid with tons of activities to get to, and a very busy life, BUT- the time I spend volunteering is a social and WONDERFUL. It's not an obligation if you truly enjoy it, and I do! It's a few hours at MOST a month.

So COME STOP BY THE MEETING and share your ideas, and agree to help at ONE event. It could be the difference in that event sticking around or not!!
