Can anyone recommend a good kosher or kosher style deli that isn't too far away from Ashburn. I'm dying for a chopped liver and tongue sandwich with a side of matzah ball soup.
    Thanks,

Chutzpah in Fair Oaks area of Fairfax. Certainly not super-close, but not too far and will have what you want. And good.

Z28, Thanks so much for your reply. I'm looking forward to giving it a try this week.

I have never been, but this place gets high marks from several people in the know at Shaare Shalom Congregation in Leesburg: http://www.royaliciousbagelbakery.com/

It's in Charlestown, WV, but apparently it's not really that far from us. They also do deli and dessert platters for celebrations (parties, shiva), and I'm told it's very good.

    Has anyone been there?

I've been to Royalicious when we went to Charlestown. It was great. If you're willing to go far, Bagel City in Rockville, MD is also wonderful.

Bagel City used to have the best bagel sandwiches but the last couple of times I went there Joy, the food was disappointing and the staff aloof. Oh, and the food is served on disposable plastic now.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I was just at Bagel City recently and all was good. I have no memory of when they didn't use disposable plates and bowls, but I am getting old. (I've been going there since I was a kid and that was a long time ago now!)

Their bakery items are still very good - especially the black and white and cinnamon cigars.

DGS www.dgsdelicatessen.com on Dupont Circle supposed to be fabulous, pricey, but from what I hear worth it. Haven't been in years but Parkway Deli on Grubb Road in Silver Spring also used to be pretty good... And Max's in SS too.
