Need Info about dog (lab) breeders

We are contemplating on getting a pup in spring. Wanted to know if there are highly recommended lab or lab-doodle breeders around Ashburn ( < 50 miles)

Also, any tips or caution to select a breeder?

I know you've probably heard this before, but there are lots of lab puppies available for adoption. We've had great experiences with our rescue dogs, one Golden (GRREAT) and our fantastic mastiff mix. Please consider rescuing as an alternative, there are so many dogs out there that need a home;

A friend bought a dog from a "breeder" in Ashburn. Poor thing had a horrible rash and was a mess until they got him meds. Be careful!

 

Many folks don't realize that animal rescues and shelters are filled with dogs that came from breeders - sadly. And as long as 'breeders' stay in business so will the rescues. Caring for a pet is a long-term consideration and the decision to adopt cannot be made on a whim.
