Been there for takeout. After all the time between the owners, I would have thought that they would have renovated the counter. They seriously need to take a circular saw to it and create several walk-through spots for the staff. They have to take about 20 extra steps everytime and excuse themselves through the lines waiting to order at the registers.

The pizza was very good. Smelled very garlicky, but turned out to be nicely balanced. Give it a try!

WOW - TWO Big Thumbs up for Johnny's Pizza. I am a native to the Northeast, New Jersey area so I can say that from my experience, this is the best NY Style pizza I have had in this area that I can remember. The sauce is incredible.... finally a sauce that has the garlic and oregano it should!

I met and talked with Dave who was a young guy that said he was the nephew of the Owners... he was great, very personable. I told him about this site and pushed him to register and get on here to talk to the neighborhood.... so keep an eye out, I think he will be talking to us soon.

They have a true 20" large pizza and some great specialty pizzas too. I tried the Moe's I think it was called... sun dried tomato, feta and it was awesome. BUT for me, the key was the plain cheese pizza and that was really good. So if the cheese is good, that is the foundation to most of the others.

I think they are still trying to figure out the decor... they literally just bought it and opened the doors... but I would make suggestions, Dave seemed like the feedback was helpful. I hope they are here to stay. And to me, the prices are normal. $2.95 for a cheese slice.

I am a convert! Also a Jersey girl pizza snob and I love their pizza! The service? Not so much, but I think they're still trying to figure things out. I'll give dine in another chance in a few weeks.

msss2013 save your money it's not NY caliber, not even close - tastes like same stuff already widely available in the area.

I'll agree with Shim. I thought the pizza was decent, and I enjoyed it. But didn't taste anything like NJ/NY pizza. For me the sauce was mild (I almost want to say bland, but there was flavor, just not any real spice to it) and the crust way too crispy to be NJ/NY style. Maybe our difference of opinions are due to some opening month inconsistencies and the quality is varying. For what it's worth, our pizza was half cheese and half peperoni. The mild sauce was a good balance with the peperoni, and I think went over well on that half of the pizza. On a plain slice, it needed some extra something.

    Other notes:
    • When we went the server was very nice and polite, and a manager or owner came by several times to ask how we were. Good marks for friendliness and attentiveness
    • However, the process was slow. We dined in, ordered an appetizer, one kids meal, and one pizza. I think it was 55 minutes or so (can't remember exactly) from when we first ordered drinks to when the pizza came, which is a great timeline for finer dining, but for a pizza place, that wasn't that busy, it is a bit long. Might have even been a little more, I just remember the whole process taking an hour and a half or so.
    • The kid's meal we ordered was too much for too little. We had the kids ravioli, and for $6 it had 3 raviolis. Wasn't enough for the (just turned) 5 year old. We ordered a second, and by that time, for $12, an adult meal or something else would have made much more sense. That said, the kid and wife both said the ravioli was very good
Overall, I think it was decent, and while we aren't in a hurry to go back, it isn't on the not-to-go list either. I'll look forward to some more reports hoping it gets better (or more consistent) over time.

Based on the other reviews here, we went to try Johnny's Pizza last night. I thought the pizza was pretty good. I tried the spinach pizza and the meatinator, and they were both good. I also heard the buffalo chicken and the baked ziti pizza are good. The slices are HUGE and piled high with toppings. The service was friendly and eager to please but needs some training and experience. Like the previous post, the manager and our server were very attentive and checked on us frequently to ask if they could get anything for us.

My wife and I went to Johnny's tonight for the first time. The food is OK, but the service is poor. The prices are higher than we usually see in this area.

Our order was simple.. one slice of white pizza, one slice of of cheese with mushrooms, and an order of garlic knots. The garlic knots were good. However, they were out of white pizza. I ordered a calzone instead. It came out in a reasonable amount of time (10 minutes), but my wife's slice of cheese hadn't appeared. The waitress kept promising. Bottom line 35 minutes of waiting and no pizza. We gave up and asked the waitress to cancel the pizza, get us a box for the calzone and bring us the bill. More waiting, no box, no bill. We asked to talk to a manager, and were told that there was no manager or owner present. Saturday night at 6 PM and no manager?

Eventually another waitress brought us the bill, but we were charged for three drinks (I ordered a soda and my wife had water). My wife went to the counter to get it straightened out and they waived the bill.

We were NOT the only customers complaining. The table next to us never got their salad. Customers at the counter waiting for their take out were complaining about the time too. Perhaps the owners should of been present on a Saturday night to lend a hand.

Friday Evening, we ordered 2 pizzas for carry out. It was ready in the promised 20 minutes. We got one 14” with pepperoni and the Meatinator. The Meatinator was huge; one and one half slices were a meal for my wife. Both pizzas were tasty. My only complaint was the parking. We will order from them again.

We tried their pizza last night, pickup. We thought it was good. No website or phone number that we could find online so ended up calling information.

    Their number is 703-723-2700.

I called on a Sunday at 8:00 and asked for an 18 inch pizza for delivery. The guy told me they don't have 18 inch pizzas. He went on for 5 minutes about how they don't have 18 inch pizzas and when I finally a word in edgewise I told him it was on the menu on their website. He then told me that was the website for their other location. I had to inform him that I got the number for Broadlands Johnny's from this website, so it looked like the menu was for both locations. I ordered our items (pizza and soup) and was told it would be about an hour or so for the delivery. They were true to their delivery time (even though we live 2 blocks away), but the pizza was warm at best. The whole transaction didn't leave me with a good imporession. I'll go back to Broadlands Pizzaria!

Had a day off last week so thought I would walk over to Johnny's and give it a try and see how it compares to Rubino's where I usually go. Wanted to order a cheesesteak, fries and a soda but there was no combo price and buying everything separately + tax ended up about $17 0r $18. IMO just too expensive. Also they only had 12" subs and I would preferred a smaller option. (Rubino's has 8" and 12" and a 8" cheesesteak + fries + soda is about $11)

Ending up buying two slices. Pizza was pretty good. (White and Pepperoni) Slices were large and really probably only needed to get one.

Bottom line - Going to stick to Rubino's.

Tried this place for the first time today. The service and quality of food was only so-so. On par with cafeteria type food. They forgot about our slices in the oven and the woman at the counter tried to convince me that crunchy pizza was the best (the crust was blackened). I said no way so the next set of slices came out undercooked with cheese still looking kind of congealed. I will not be back ever again. There's so many other places around here that are much much better.

Been there a couple of times and their pizza is excellent and very NYC. Don't know what you mean about it being cafeteria-type food but it is far from that.
