FLL Robotics - Middle School / Elementary

Folks,

Does anyone know of First Lego Robotics (FLL) teams associated with Eagle Ridge or Mill Run? I have a 7th grader and 1st grader. We moved to Broadlands last year, and are having trouble in finding a Robotics team for my son to join. My husband was a mentor for a high school team in DC, but have not been able to find a team in this area or any information from the schools on this program.

Any information on teams looking for students will be appreciated? Additionally, if there are any like-minded parents interested in starting a team, we could begin a discussion as well. I can be reached at chrisagna@yahoo.com.

 

Contact ashburn robotics. (www.ashburnrobotics.com). They may have a spot for the 7th grader. Most teams for FLL would have formed already. For the 1st grade - you are likely looking for a Junior FLL (Jr. FLL) team, and I am not aware of any.. and Jr. FLL is non competitive. The recommended ages for the FLL is 9 through 14 years of age. I coach an FLL team myself, and while I cannot accommodate any new kids, I am happy to provide any guidance to anyone wanting to start a team. Please do remember that local area tournaments will be held in month of November, and time is tight to get anything meaningful accomplished.
