A few neighbors and I have seen a young kid (Elementary or Middle School age) riding a mini motorcycle on the community sidewalks and this young guy didn't even bother to look both ways before crossing the street ....

I'm finding this extremely dangerous because:

    1) He's going at a pretty fast clip on his mini motorcycle on the sidewalks and autos could be backing out of their driveways and not noticing that he's speeding on the sidewalk and I fear that there will be an accident waiting to happen. Not to mention forcing people to get out of the way if he's riding the mini motorcycle on the sidewalk.

    2) Sidewalks aren't made for motorcycles of all sizes last I read county laws on this. I think not but not sure if the laws have changed.

Is it legal for a mini motorcycle to be ridden on sidewalks and HOA Trails throughout the neighborhood?

What does the HOA say about this on the HOA Trails...is it acceptable even though it may not be acceptable on the sidewalks?

I fear someone is going to get hurt and since he doesn't have a license plate for the mini motorcycle, he cannot ride in the street -- which leads me to believe that he's riding the sidewalk for this reason.

My dogs and I nearly got ran over by him two days ago. Glad I heard the engine and got off the sidewalk in time.

I see a lot of motorized scooters, mini bikes on the walking trails, scares me and my dog every single time. I've complained to HOA, but hard to enforce. However, signs should be posted on all walking trails that no motorized vehicles allowed.

Sheriff's office stated that if you have your phone...Take a picture of the offenders and share with them and call them immediately. They will send out the cops to catch the kids and bring them to their parents with a warning that its not allowed on the sidewalks or the trails. Its a safety issue they said and also they said its illegal for motorized minibikes on the sidewalk and is prosecutable.
