Foxy Lady Siting

    Or mangy beast. Same thing. We've noticed a rather disheveled fox hanging around the Southern Walk Townhomes around Hawksbury Drive. Weeks ago, he/she was just sitting near the woods by the drain at the end of the cul de sac. Today, I just happened to go out on my deck and it was passing through the woods behind our fence. Are we supposed to call the homeowners or the SPCA or something about these sitings? This one looks pretty thin and scruffy...and hungry. I would hate for a child who's playing to come across it unexpectedly. fox.jpg

    Looks like a mangy fox to me.

    I agree, that is a coyote. The length of the legs, fur coloring and shape of the head, nose and ears.... and a fox is a lot less likely to behave like that during the day.

    Mangy fox do come out during the day looking for food, especially in more advanced stage. Whether or not it is a fox or coyote, it has a bad case of mange.
