Does anyone have any information on if there is ever going to be a traffic signal installed at the Waxpool and Ashburn Village Blvd intersection? It's becoming increasingly frustrating and very dangerous! I have seen at least one accident, the remains of one or a near miss on a weekly basis. It seems like a no-brainer that the intersection needs something better than a 4-way stop to keep traffic flowing efficiently and safely.

Can anyone tell me where Unbridled Way is? Google maps doesn't seem to have it. I'd like them to widen Waxpool between Ashburn Rd and the Verizon complex.

And while they're at it, they could really use to change the lanes around on northbound Ashburn Village Rd at that Waxpool intersection. The left turn lane is always empty and the right turn/straight lane backs up. Many people seem to go straight from the left turn lane to avoid the line. I'd like to see them have the left lane be for left turns and straight while the right lane is right turn only.

at least the sherriff was at the intersection yesterday morning to keep things orderly..

It's interesting that southbound village has been opened up to 3 lanes, but it's the only side that has been.

I'm pretty sure they cut down on the lanes to reduce the accidents. The more people lined up.. the more risk for confusion. But I agree the left lane should be straight...

If you are heading east on Waxpool and pass Regency, "Unbridled Way" is the un-named curb cut on your right just when Waxpool goes from two lanes to four lanes. This is eventually supposed to be a road.

Waxpool is currently being widened between Ashburn Road and the stop sign at Faulkner Parkway.
The remaining stretch of Waxpool, from Faulkner Parkway to Unbridled Way, is the remaining piece that is is supposed to start this year and be finished next years.
    Keep your fingers crossed.

It's funny how the Summer of 2013 turned into the end of 2013 when it came to the start of construction for this joke of a project. I actually e-mailed the county about this back in 2010 and, surprisingly, they put me in touch with the project manager. After annual e-mails in 2011 and 2012, which drew frustrating responses, I finally gave up e-mailing the guy. While the county's incompetent transportation department -- which has twice botched the widening of Smith Switch Rd. -- deserves the brunt of the blame, the Ashburn-Sterling Masonic Lodge No. 288 should also draw the middle finger of anyone who has sat at this intersection for 10 minutes during rush hour. It seems the Masons took a very long time -- knowingly or unknowingly -- to approve whatever permission they had to give the county to widen the road in front of their property. Regardless, whoever is responsible for this "project" should be relieved of their duties. Especially once the Summer of 2014 completion date stretches to late 2014.

I personally wouldnt mind continuing to have the 4way stops if all the drivers in Ashburn could figure out how youre SUPPOSED to move through them. There are enouh 4way stops around that everyone should be given the 4way Stop Rules at their house closing. So many delays are caused by people sitting looking at each other like they've never seen other cars before.

Anyone know when the current construction is expected to complete? This project to widen Waxpool seems like it's taking forever. The Belmont Ridge widening will probably finish before the Waxpool one.

Supposed to be done in a few weeks now. No more issues with unidentified fiber in the ground.
