So, any news on your search LMich? Some of us are living vicariously through your search and hoping for a good outcome. I imagine with the Metro coming, prices are going up?

Jeddie, have you noticed even more competition for Broadlands?

All Broadlands homes continue to be in high demand with desirable homes usually selling within a few days of hitting the market so long as they are priced appropriately. This past weekend a nice Broadlands single family hit the market priced on the lower end of the range and received nine offers. Yes actually nine offers. Demand remains strong as we enter the fall.

I have lived in Ashburn since 1997 well before the 20148 zip code was created and really love real estate and helping others. If anyone has housing market questions please feel free to reach out. I pride myself on being helpful and not annoying.

Dave thanks for checking in and hoping for a move! We have yet to find a place in Broadlands but would certainly love to! The issue hasn't really been related to budget (budget is flexible and so far everything that is the size we are looking for--roughly 4,000 sq ft-- has been within budget) or competition (yet - but holy cow, 9 offers!), it's more that inventory has been so low and we haven't found anything that checks all the boxes. We are very fortunate that we currently have a roof over our heads and moving is a strong desire instead of a need, but with that comes a more specific list of must-haves and/or deal breakers. I envy all of you who have been in the neighborhood for so long :) And, of course...if you hear of anything coming soon keep me posted!

LMich, did you hear that we are getting Verizon in the SouthernWalk section? I think this is very positive and dropping Openband is a great option. If that is of interest to you, feel free to PM me for more details/opinions.

    LMich,
I would guess two and a half years of dithering has cost you several, or many, tens of thousands in rising prices for the same size/quality of home.
