Question for Broadlands HOA: Regarding your Halloween Decorating Contest prize ($100 for 1st place; $75 for 2nd place; $50 for 3rd place), curious to know which pot is that money coming out of - is it from our monthly fees/misc. or.... ? Also, do homeowners get to decide how our money is spent? Thanks for taking these questions seriously.

The vast majority of all monies spent by the HOA comes from monthly homeowner assessments. A very small amount comes from other funds raised, such as selling outside pool memberships. To put it all in context, the HOA has a four million dollar annual budget.
The decision makers on how that money is spent is a 9 member HOA Board made up of residents voted upon by residents.
Any resident can let the Board know how they feel our money should be spent. You can attend one of our monthly Board meetings and speak or you can contact us by email or phone. Our contact info is in each newsletter and on the website.
